Cables is what everyone should be using. What's even more absurd is that the latest wifi gear is designed to greatly exceed the capability of your internet connection. In other words, they are useless for most people, probably designed to freeload your neighbors' signal. WiFi routers are 'too fast' for DSL or Cable, but they are not too fast for p2p on your LAN...The speed is for transfer of data from computer to computer...  As for 'freeloading'...I have an open AP here...My LAN is protected and anyone that wants to jack in is more than welcome... You will feel differently when someone uses your WAP to preform some illegal activity. You will be the one that has to prove to the authorities that it wasn't you. This is after your PC's are gone, your house ransacked and your arrest record augmented.
