I tried a 5GHz cordless and a 2GHz cordless phone. Both interfered with my sleep. I turned them off and got a 900MHz phone. The older technology doesn't keep sending a signal when not in use. You can get a 900 MHz phone for about $15. Those high frequency phones all send out a signal even when the phone is off the hook. It's like having a mini cell phone tower inside your house.
