This is not good advice. No matter how much I want it to be it is just a manslaughter or murder charge waiting to happen. Reasonable force is a real and legal thing. Shoot the fucker. Just be good enough to end it before it becomes something else. In short. Train so you can make your three or four reasonable shots end him. Not your 17 shots that bleed him out due to not being able to shoot worth a damn.

Actually, it is the correct advice. Ask any LEO, Range Master or CCW Trainer. LEO's and CCW holders are trained to eliminate a threat as quickly as possible. In other words, if they pull their gun, they are trained to use "lethal force". So you want to put as many holes into that threat as quickly as possible to incapacitate said threat. Otherwise, they remain a potential threat.

Dude, you can believe the internet all you want but I am trained. I have a team a lawyers that tell me how to handle shit when it comes up. You are wrong. You don't have to deal with the cops. You deal with a grand jury. And they don't give two shits about what your silly little youtube videos say. You get three to four shots depending on your situation before you go to prison. Agreed. My father has always taught me, if u need to use your gun bc of a threat to ur life, ALWAYS shoot to kill. It will have already been a traumatic experience with either home invasion or being attacked and u don’t want to have to relive it in the court system.

The fucking point is, learn to shoot and then train to shoot. Listening to some douche at a shithole range is going to get you sent to prison. Putting two to center of mass and possibly a third into either center of mass or the head is justified most times. 15 to 20 rounds into a guy makes you a fucking moron who can't shoot worth a damn or has exactly zero sense.

And yet another thing. What if your untrained ass doesn't know how to execute a tactical reload with any sort of efficiency? You blew your load and have nothing in reserve if your untrained shooting ass didn't hit him with your 18 shots.

More important than owning a gun, is knowing deadly force law, and the specifics of your state.

This argument is from two extremes and may be confusing people so not going to “feed it”.

Have insurance from a company like USCCA, and an attorney that already knows you and takes their insurance at the ready. Have a file with all details of your training and letters of good character from those instructors. If you cannot make that call make sure your family has access to all info needed to work on your behalf (you might be busy getting butt raped for a while). Say NOTHING to the police.

Remember shooting the bad guy isn’t the worst part (fuck him anyway, you made the world a better place), the worst part is fighting to keep out of a cage the rest of your life. After that, you might be facing a civil law case that bankrupts the rest of your life.

Remember Judges have quotas to fill set by private prisons.

I've worked with local police to FBI agents on a High Tech Crimes Task Force. I was a volunteer with local police after completing a 12 week training course by LEO. As a govt contractor, I received SALW training as part of OPSEC contingency plans on missions when deploying or maintaining SIGINT/MASINT equipment outside of CONUS.

In addition, I have several family members who are licensed CCW holders in Kommiefornia (not that easy to obtain). As civilians, they were trained consistent with what I stated in my previous post.

Finally, the saying, "It's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6." applies.

Good advice. I didn't mention the word "kill" in my post. I stated eliminating or incapacitating a threat by use of deadly force.

My post was about training to eliminate or incapacitate a threat using deadly force, not the legal aspects. Deadly force may only be used in a last resort situation only.

Edit: In my present situation, as a foreigner in the Philippines, I would be screwed if I were ever had to use deadly force to protect my own or my family's life. So I keep a low profile, avoid high risk areas and maintain situational awareness.
