Mitt Romney on President Donald Trump: He hasn't 'risen to the mantle of the office'
Days away from joining the Senate’s Republican majority, Sen.-elect Mitt Romney broadly criticized President Donald Trump’s policies and character and argued that the president “has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

“With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable,” the Utah Republican and 2012 presidential nominee wrote in a Washington Post op-ed posted online Tuesday night. “And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.”

Romney will be sworn in as a senator on Thursday.

Needs to explain with specific details why his assessment is correct in accordance with actions, words or in-actions Trump actually did. Relate the two instead of blanket conclusions that are designed as 100% emotional triggers.

So Romney wants to be a "flake" and "pain". Not a damn bit surprised he lost in 2012. And, he will lose again if he tries.

Exactly. Next time I hear someone call Trump a racist or warmonger who is going to get us into a war, I'm going to demand their "evidence". Sick of them spewing lines of lies with nothing to back it up.

One thing Romney has going for him is he isn’t a racist. He’s a Mormon, so he abhorrent behavior to blacks is because HIS bible tells him they are the fallen angels.

We ought to just kick Utah out along with SoCal.

I Love God, Jesus, good people, and the U.S.A. the way the Framers signed the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
In my real world life I don't have a problem with standing up to those with solid evidence of corruption from either side, of any issue or place. Many are they in this world that need to be rooted out.
That makes me a target to be destroyed by very powerful people, I understand this.
At some point we have to stand up for what is right before God. I have done this, lived this way, and will continue to do so till they finish me off or I croak of natural causes.

OMG .... Trump is NOT in favor of CONTINUAL and FOREVER WAR as well as the DEINDUSTRIALIZATION of the United States!!

The Elites on the Coasts are fit to be tied about such heretical thinking!!

As a Bostonian (Romney lived most of his adult working life in Boston) Romney feels it is time for the COASTAL ELITES to reseize control of the Government back from those who won't take their orders from those who live and work around Harvard Square and their fellow travelers!!

I don't think very many people (outside of Utah, anyway) are inclined to care what he thinks, but he's a Senator now. What he thinks matters whether we like it or not.
