Left uncut, your hair will grow to a particular length and then stop all by itself at the correct length for you.

Except thats not true. Hair will grow forever and will never stop at a certain length.

Hair that is very long (past waist level) is prone to matting and collecting dirt and grease which then weighs down the hair. Constant pressure and weight on the hair follicles and scalp then causes them to get damaged and hair will fall out. People with dreads that are long and heavy experience this all the time. Most of the time the hair loss is permanent. Women and men who wear their hair tight also experience this.

Long ago people in many cultures didn’t cut their hair, because it was a part of who they were. There were no salons. Often, when people were conquered or enslaved, their hair was cut as a recognized sign of slavery. It was also understood that this would serve as punishment and decrease the power of those enslaved.

No, they didn't cut their hair because they didn't have scissors until the Europeans brought it to them.

Cultures who lacked scissors were left with cutting hair with single long blades which made cutting hair short very difficult. Those cultures who lacked blades resorted to using friction on bark or wood to cut hair. Again which meant shorter hair was not a possibility.

From a yogic perspective, hair is an amazing gift of nature that can actually help raise the Kundalini energy (creative life force), which increases vitality, intuition, and tranquility.

I wouldn't take advice from a group of people that shit in the street and pollute their own rivers and lakes with the bodies of the dead and their waste.

The yogic tradition of growing hair was formed as an opposition to the stance of Buddhism (bald heads) and they wanted to be seen as the opposite of their ideology.

That's talking about people with damaged hair and who are battling mineral/vitamin deficiencies and hormonal changes (caused by pregnancy, menopause, etc).

If your protein, vitamin, and mineral intake is causing a deficiency of course your hair will stop growing. Anorexics get it all the time.

Healthy people have hair that never stops growing.
