When Trump said he was bringing the troops home now, he probably assumed that people would know that he didn't mean instantly. That would be impossible for one thing.

Also, on many occasions, he has made it quite clear that he will never telegraph the timing of military actions. Therefore, he probably figured that people would know that, too, as well as the obvious fact that troops will not be moved if conditions on the ground change.

In terms of ISIS, it was announced today that 99% of ISIS has been defeated. I would say that is a victory.

In order to understand Trump, here are some keys:
1. He speaks with a fourth grade vocabulary. That is a deliberately honed, high level persuasive skill.
2. He thinks in terms of numbers which is an indication of a scientific mind, much like his uncle, John, who was the scientist that the government asked to review Tesla's work. We can know this from the fact that Trump can recall budget details off the top of his head and refers to numbers frequently.
3. Because he thinks in terms of numbers, he skips over the minor details necessary to explain exactly what he means. He assumes that people understand the context without his having to explain everything. He's like the guy who can solve a math problem without listing each step and wrongly assumes that everybody else can, too.

The problem I have with the press is they're not fair. It is a fact that 90% of mainstream coverage is and has been negative, according to a Pew study. No wonder people hate Trump. Given that kind of reporting, people would hate Mother Theresa.
