Trump doesn't have to do anything for the wall but wait

As the shutdown stretches out for more weeks/months, 800k typically spoiled, entitled government workers will continue to go without pay. They will start to really hurt.

They can blame Trump. They can blame Congress. But soon, blaming won't be enough for the govt leeches.

Now, it is obvious enough to everyone that Congress is the most at fault. They spend many more times the 5.7 billion requested for the wall (which is still massively insufficient) on rewarding our enemies, their personal friends, and on junk science.

Trump's only fault is insisting we be safe and that he deliver on his campaign promises - to do what we elected him to do.

Whoever the employees decide to blame won't really matter. It will only start to matter when a very small percentage of those 800k employees finally decide to take matters in their own hands. While digging through dusty pockets in their furniture for change, some might roll their fingers across a spent shell. For a few of those people, that event may ignite some dark ideas of revenge.

What it will boil down to, once a small fraction of the 800k have had enough and go mad, is who has the best security. The President? Or individual members of Congress?

If the President has the best security, then we'll have the wall. If Congress has the best security (they don't), then no wall - until some other leverage is applied.

Sad, sick, but probably true...
Lib govt employees - unpaid, unfed and undrugged for a few weeks - will turn on their own virtue-signaling heroes, out of frustration and desperation. Libs in Congress will cave. The wall will be built.

And Trump won't have to do anything but stay safe.
