With more people lighting up than ever (and nine states voting on the legalization of marijuana on Election Day), it's important to remember how many fatally overdose on the drug. Zip. Zero. That's according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which collects data on a range of other substances, both legal and illicit, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. For comparison, opioids, which include prescription pain relievers and heroin, killed more than 28,000 Americans in 2014. Nearly 88,000 people die from alcohol-related causes every year, which makes alcohol the fourth leading preventable cause of the death in the US. It's pretty impossible to ingest a lethal dose of marijuana. David Schmader, author of "Weed: The User's Guide," spoke with experts and crunched the numbers on how much bud it would take to kill someone. "Even aspirin can kill you if you take too much, but a fatal dose of marijuana would require ingestion of fifteen hundred pounds in fifteen minutes -- a physical impossibility for any human, even Snoop Dogg," Schmader writes in his book. SNIP-------------------------------------- So, in the article is a graphical representation of how, theoretically, Cannabis could kill. Of course it's a physical impossibility, meaning that it CAN'T, and it wouldn't be the THC causing fatality, just the result of trying to gag that volume down in 15 minutes. It would be easier to die from water toxicity. Just a little bit of common sense, plus a pretty picture for any dumb opioid junkies that might come in to make stupid comments :) You are going to make the cannabis kills guy from the UK angry lol. jimmyduffy |

I was having severe heart palpatations and I couldn’t stand. I was having strong anxiety and a panic attack and having torouble breathing. The marijuana nowadays is overly powerful. [link to vancouversun.com (secure)] :smartass: Oh, I'm sorry, I don't acknowledge you in my thread. You lie, you prevaricate, you're a racist and you continue to put up BS facts. Here's a fact for you... THC CAN'T KILL YOU. NOR CAN WHOLE CANNABIS. Unless you try and eat 1.5K pounds of it, which I wouldn't put past your sorry ass. Now, if you were to say that there were 851 deaths in which cannabis use might have been a factor? That would be a stretch, but far closer to accurate. Attributing death to THC is right up there with saying that ice is dangerous and is a toxic, horrible poison... because someone slipped on it and cracked their head. But apparently Drugged out Brits from Whitby are just way too STUPID to be able to parse the difference. Now, I can't say for sure that this has to do with a long term opioid dependence... but I bet you MEDICAL SCIENCE would bear me out, unlike someone trying to press how fatal and dangerous cannabis is.... Crawl back to your pathetic thread of attention, Francis - you'll get away with NONE of your lies and evasions here!
