I grew up with cows. How far to water? Did you feed them earlier? Lead cow just taking a break before going for a drink. I have to agree with a previous post, overgrazing. Or is this due to the drought earlier in the year? Did they kick up their heels sensing a change in the weather? I know they will run and play sometimes just before a front moves in. They might be listening to a neighbor feeding his cows. Too many unknowns.

Sometimes my sheep do the same thing and stand staring in the same direction without moving. I have witnessed groups of them doing it for more than a couple of minutes. It is hard not to watch them when they are doing it. I have no idea why your cows are doing it, but there is so much we don't know about animals. They are much more complex than what we admit, and they have social relationships with each other that we don't understand.

Your sheep are just messing with ewe.....

Howdy, neighbor.
Over the past 40 years I have seen a lot of waterfowl stop migrating and live in the remaining undeveloped lands.
It has been a long time since they have been hunted much in this area, and the Canada Geese seem to know they are a protected species.
Where I live now has many ponds, swales, swamps and glacial moraine hills. I love hearing them flying around and honking.

But I remember watching them fly in the "wrong" direction for the time of year even back in the 1970s.


These cows keyed in on something.

I'm going with coyote, and the neighbor later shooing it away or shootin it.

Who doesn't like cows?

There is a new "Tesla tower" in Milford, TX which is southwest of your cows. Perhaps the cows were facing the tower while the tower's owners, Viziv Technologies was conducting an experiment.

Of course Viziv would make that disclaimer in an effort to calm the public and dissuade lawsuits. But the nature of experiments is that you aren't certain of the outcome until after the experiment is conducted.

Nicola Tesla created earthquakes in upstate New York which were a distance away from his equipment in the New York City area. He also nearly collapsed a steel building that was under construction, and caused other disruptions to his neighbors. He was a great inventor, but he did endanger some of his neighbors.

You may also want to consider hiring a lawyer and suing Viziv Technologies if your cattle suffer detrimental effects which correlate with experiments Viziv is conducting with that "Tesla tower." Of course, Viziv may not be aware of harm they may be causing until people contact them with their concerns.

Document any strange effects, keeping track of days and times as these may correlate with specific experiments Viziv is carrying out.

Of course, there is also the possibility that the behavior of your cattle has nothing to do with the "Tesla tower" and/or experiments Viziv is carrying out .

That's why record keeping will be important.
