Naloxone is the shit they put in Buprenorphine for the fucking heroin addicts. They dont prescribe Naloxone to us pain patients.

Your not getting it are you? You don't even need a script for it anymore. Regular people like you wife could have bought some to administer it to you if you OD.

It's primary function is to reverse an opioid overdose.

Anyone taking opiates should at least have this in their home for yourself, family, or friends because it just may save their life.

1. Drug services can supply naloxone without a prescription
Under regulations that came into force in October 2015, people employed or engaged in the provision of drug treatment services can, as part of their role, supply naloxone that has been obtained by their drug service to others, as long as it is supplied for the purpose of being available to save life in emergency. A prescription is not needed for the naloxone to be supplied in this way.

For example, a worker in a recognised drug treatment service could supply naloxone for use in an emergency to a family member or friend of a person using heroin, or to an outreach worker for a homelessness service whose clients include people who use heroin.

‘Drug treatment services’ for this purpose are those provided by, on behalf of, or under arrangements made by, one of the following bodies:

an NHS body
a local authority
Public Health England (PHE)
Public Health Agency (Northen Ireland)
The sorts of drug treatment services that meet this definition to be suppliers of naloxone include but may not be limited to:

drug services commissioned from primary care providers
drug services commissioned from secondary care providers (including a range of specialised community and inpatient drug services)
needle and syringe programmes – including those provided from pharmacies, as long as they are commissioned by local authorities or the NHS
pharmacies providing drug treatment such as opioid substitution treatments through supervised consumption
prison drug services
The regulations do not allow those individuals who have been supplied naloxone by a lawful drug treatment service to supply it to a third party for use at a later date. However it remains the case that in an emergency situation anyone can use any available naloxone to save a life.

Current clinical guidance recommends that such naloxone supply should be accompanied by provision of suitable training and advice for those who are supplied the naloxone.
 Quoting: A Chosen

DO you know what drug treatment services are you fucking idiot? That's for people who are registered DRUG ADDICTS ie heroin addicts, they go to these people for help or to avoid prison or part of probation not normal patients like me.

I swear to god you people get fucking dumber everyday.

You can call bullshit all you like :) But then you can also look at the numerous studies, both in the US and Canada, proving that violent crime is much reduced where marijuana is legal.

And it makes perfect sense, to boot... nearly all crime related to marijuana is actually related to illegal trafficking, law enforcement and the growth and movement of illegal marijuana. Make it legal, you take away the incentive for criminal activity.

Unless of course you're referring to the violent assault of the refrigerator about an hour in, but that's a totally different beast laugh

Let me tell you something dimwit! Don't take this personally but FUCK YOU and your dope smoking attitude. People like you proliferate this drug abuse. This not only impacts legal aged adults but it is making this crap even more accessible to our children. It is not like drinking a beer or two. I don't condone that either but this lab grown ultra potent weed will send you for a loop all day long. Then people go to work, drive down the road, etc, etc. Great for medical use blah blah blah. Maybe it is. Make it available via prescription. The one thing I have noticed is that people will abuse the hell out of it. I have known some very smart people that had great potential get caught up in smoking dope. People become infatuated with it. Most are dirtbags digging a deeper hole. How many successful people do you know that smoke dope? I don't know a single person. It is the devils lettuce! Go ahead sell your soul to the devil and that is precisely what is wrong with people today. People seem to want to self medicate and numb themselves from this unjust world. Your moral compass is off by 180 degrees. I urge you to spend more time reading the bible and less time smoking dope. Time is short. How about standing up for something good and righteous like Jesus Christ?
 Quoting: kungfart

Enjoy your rant? You make one VERY large assumption. Well, several actually - but so many people that defend marijuana DON'T smoke it! They are just proponents of using it for medicinal / therapeutic purposes.

Then you'd also have to look at the amount of people that are defending marijuana due to CBD - which is non-psychoactive, though not as effective without the other terpenes in cannabis.

But again, neither of these things is relevant to your little diatribe - rude, to boot. The bottom line is, marijuana is the SAFEST ALTERNATIVE TO ANY RECREATIONAL DRUG / SUBSTANCE out there being used recreationally... and it's LEGAL. Just like those one or two beer you mentioned... except those beer will eventually kill someone, whereas THC won't.

As for the rest, I won't bore you with the studies that have showed a DROP in underage use of marijuana since it's legalization, the lowered crime rates, the lowered rates of alcohol and opioid abuse, the increase in quality of life... you want to discuss a MORAL COMPASS? Let's discuss the MORALITY of allowing people to suffer from unnecessary pain and anxiety because GOOD CHRISTIANS rail against the "Devil's Lettuce." Let's talk about how hospitals ENCOURAGE opioid addiction because, while they would prefer to PRESCRIBE something which is both beneficial and has few side effects or negative impacts, some NON-MEDICAL board headed by people who get paid by lobbies gets to decide if it's LEGAL or not?

Let me tell you, and YOU can take this personally... PEOPLE LIKE YOU ALLOWING OTHERS TO SUFFER DUE TO A MESSED UP MORAL COMPASS MAKE ME SICK. I'm not defending ANYONE who abuses ANYTHING, and most people that post here aren't... but at the risk of having to state the obvious, SOME people are going to abuse ANYTHING that they can, no matter what. If I have to choose the lesser of evils, I will EVERY TIME that choosing NO evil isn't an option, and YOU DON'T HAVE the RIGHT to judge without understanding.

As to successful people... if you're too godstruck and stupid to google the VAST NUMBER of extremely successful people, and BRILLIANT minds - scientists, inventors, philosophers... then you suffer from the same degree of stupidity that CKP does, and I have no hope for you. But ultimately it doesn't matter, because whether you choose to educate yourself or not, the truth simply IS. I can prove EVERYTHING that people say about cannabis... I defy you to do the same about your religion.

But then again, I'm pretty sure that your Jesus Christ would have an understanding of compassion and intelligence tempered by understanding... something that YOU seem not to grasp. If I were the praying type, I'd pray for you - but as I'm not, I'll simply leave well enough alone and hope you recover from your tunnel vision.

That would be me because I've seen the wonders it has done for others first hand. I use to be very against it.

If it were legal where I lived, I would use for a health issue I have. I have no interest in getting high but a have great interest in it's medicinal uses. And if it gets worse, I will obtain it one way or another before I succumb to big pharma's poisons again.

Been there done that and nearly destroyed my life while on hydrocodone, oxycodone, and oxycontin. The only way I would use big pharmas pain pills is if I am terminal.

I now treat big pharma like I used to treat cannabis. Seems the roles have reversed after researching and actually seeing it work for others.

Kratom is very effective for pain relief. It prevents muscle and nerve pain in my back and legs.

Exercise your common sense for a moment and see what it tells you.

And yet ALL of the figures and stats refute this, despite so many groups trying to push your agenda. If you people want to discuss facts, kindly bring facts. If you have a moral agenda, this is not the place for it.

The discussion is about dropping crime rates, particularly violent ones. Not even SPECIFICALLY tied to marijuana, because THEN the stats would be SO overwhelmingly supporting the title that it wouldn't even be worth talking about.

Child discipline and enforcement of school rules and age laws has nothing to do with crime levels, and has no place in the discussion. Also, let's address the vaping comment - and the fact that the VAST majority of them are NOT vaping marijuana, but e-juices that are devoid of nicotine OR THC.

If anything, proof exists that underage cannabis use has DROPPED everywhere that it has been legalized... because then A) the perceived and foolish "cool factor" is gone, and B) the marijuana is CONTROLLED, and not as easily accessible.

And having been a school janitor in my teens a LONG time ago, I can tell you that kids have been stealing their parents' LEGAL booze, in grade school, and drinking at school for a VERY long time, so it's not like you're describing a new or more prevalent issue - it just happens to be with a substance that has FAR less physical danger than alcohol. Should kids use it? HELL no! But making a MORAL argument because you're erroneously relating children and pot is simply facile. In fact, if you would care to do your research, in LA they found that when dispensaries were CLOSED, that crime rates went up significantly, though they expected the opposite.

There are some facts for you. It gets TIRING having to do the research for all of these "opinion" people that don't even have ANECDOTAL evidence of what they say... just their "feels."

I am a father trying to raise two children in a world of chaos. In the last ten year our culture has taken such a nose dive that I've had to draw a line in the sand. I refuse to buy this heard mentality that nothing is wrong with all of these issues that have been in our face for the last ten years. The devil is here and in our face. I'll rebuke Satan with my last breath. We must all choose wisely. Maybe you are right, I'm a little crazy. I am crazy for Jesus and the light he shines on this dark world. Please try it. Marijuana legalisation causing violent crime to fall in US states, study finds

Rates of assault and murder decreasing in regions near Mexican border where cannabis use has been partially legalised

Judith Vonberg
Monday 15 January 2018 17:26

The legalisation of marijuana for medical purposes has led to a significant reduction in violent crime in several US states bordering Mexico, according to new research.

The study, published in The Economic Journal, found that the rate of violent crime – including robberies, murders and aggravated assaults – fell by 12.5 per cent in counties close to the border after the introduction of medical marijuana laws (MMLs).

“MMLs allow people to grow and cultivate marijuana plants legally within the US,” Professor Evelina Gavrilova, one of the study’s authors, told The Independent.

“This means that people don’t need to buy illegal marijuana anymore so drug trafficking organisations (DTOs) have far fewer customers.”

Only problem with making marijuana "Legal" for recreational use is that a "private" business can "legally" still refuse to hire you if you have marijuana in your system. Just like they can if you have alcohol or any other bio-chemical compound that can negatively affect how you do a job that a "private" business pays you to do.

It's like this, would you feel at ease either you are a close family member went under the knife in a major surgery if the surgeon still had enough marijuana in his/her system.

Sure as heck not me.

I don't care what you do with your body because it's your body but fact of the matter is a heck of a lot of employers are not going to hire you if you are a pot smoker.
Has nothing yo do with violation of your rights either. Has to do if someone is paying you to do a job that employer has a right to know that who is working or contracting with them is not high while on the job they are getting paid to do.

No more than if a employer booted a employee because they came in to work with alcohol on their breath even though they may not be necessarily drunk at the time.
It's a catch 22.

I absolutely respect your concerns, as a father particularly. Whether that justifies you coming at me, or anyone, in the manner that you have is a different matter, but we'll let that go.

I don't disagree with the points that you are making, but I disagree with the argument, and the focus, that your points take. Fluid sex? Ridiculous. Promiscuity, pedopushing, all of it is disgusting. The abuse of ANY substance is a problem, and has been since before the bible was written, and I don't know what the answer is.

But here is where the problem with your position lies... your issue is not with marijuana, it's with HUMAN NATURE. I notice you don't talk about ALCOHOL and sex, or HEROIN and sex, which are FAR more prevalent and problematic. The issue is with substance abuse in GENERAL, along with so many other ridiculous ideas having to do with gender, biology, etc. But somehow you have wrapped the two together in your mind, and you're attacking the wrong thing.

Drawing a line in the sand? I APPLAUD that you do! Take care of your children, protect them the best you can, and do everything in your power to make sure they are safe and well. But does taking medicine from someone protect your child? No. Does alcohol prohibition save them? Do you rail at people walking into bars because alcohol could make your daughter have sex one day? NO, because that would be foolish. Do you castigate other members of the PTA for having valium, as YOUR child may one day abuse it with help from THEIR child? Again, no, because the SOURCE of the issue is NOT valium.

You see the logical fallacy in your argument? You are blaming a relatively harmless substance, which ABSOLUTELY can be abused, for a societal shift. But therein lies the issue - CANNABIS has nothing to do with that, the same as heroin, Xanax, Budweiser or Tequila have nothing to do with it. Your fears are well-founded, just misplaced.

And I have nothing to ask forgiveness for. Or, more accurately, I have MANY things to ask forgiveness for, but the god you believe in has no right to absolve me for those things. And I've never expected marijuana to "save" me, just as I've never expected Tylenol or Twinkies to save me. It is an intoxicant like any other, albeit one of the safest known to man, and not physically addictive in any way, though any addictive personality can get addicted to ANYTHING. If I had to see a youth use ANYTHING, I would consider cannabis the safest alternative.. and then ABSOLUTELY stop them from using it until legally able to make those decisions.

And that is one of the issues that legalization SOLVES for... the abuse and underage distribution of pot. In places where weed is illegal it is WAY easier for kids to access it than in places where it is legal and regulated, so one would think you would be in favour of this.

Treat marijuana JUST like alcohol, divest you mind of your moral and confused view based on a lifetime of legal suppression, and look at the FACTS.

 Quoting: RobertNpc

You are entirely correct - if I had someone working for me that was stoned at work, I would definitely expect them to be fired the same as someone who was intoxicated.

Here's the caveat, though - you can't actually fire someone who may smell of alcohol for being drunk - you have to PROVE that they are drunk. How many lawsuits do you think would be filed for being fired for being hung over?

Now, have that person take a breathalyzer and blow over the legal limit? Yep, out the door.

NOW< translate that to marijuana - they are already using preliminary devices to show the amount of THC in a system (besides the natural background components, much like radiation) and what constitutes a legal limit.

At that point, there is NO substantial difference between the two states, except that many people function just fine while using marijuana, to a point, and nobody would ever notice. In fact, there are significant studies showing how a Sativa based cannabis, in small amounts, can sharpen focus, attention span and increase productivity significantly. Now, if you don;t think big business will bank on this eventually with the legality issue a moot point, then you haven't been around corporate business for long.

I'm not disagreeing with you entirely, but to be brutally honest? If I had to choose between my surgeon being drunk, or hungover, or being stoned, or slightly lit? I'll take the marijuana, thanks. Far less cognitive or motor skill impairment.

But I'd rather neither, TYVM!
