No surprise there, weed kills the fire in your belly, all well and good for violent crime statistics, but killing that fire also kills your ambitions and makes you ambivalent to government and establishment oppression. It makes you numb. Not good! Dont fall for it!

Ok master debater. I will tone down my rant a bit. Here is my jaded view - Our society is going off the rails here. Everything is sex drugs and rock & roll. People don't know what sex they are, can't cope with life, divided on everything possible. So my question is should we become more free and loose or should be get back to the basics of right and wrong. Weed and sex are glorified from every angle. I am a father trying to raise two children in a world of chaos. In the last ten year our culture has taken such a nose dive that I've had to draw a line in the sand. I refuse to buy this heard mentality that nothing is wrong with all of these issues that have been in our face for the last ten years. The devil is here and in our face. I'll rebuke Satan with my last breath. We must all choose wisely. Maybe you are right, I'm a little crazy. I am crazy for Jesus and the light he shines on this dark world. Please try it. Ask Jesus for forgiveness! Marijuana won't save you.
 Quoting: kungfart

I absolutely respect your concerns, as a father particularly. Whether that justifies you coming at me, or anyone, in the manner that you have is a different matter, but we'll let that go.

I don't disagree with the points that you are making, but I disagree with the argument, and the focus, that your points take. Fluid sex? Ridiculous. Promiscuity, pedopushing, all of it is disgusting. The abuse of ANY substance is a problem, and has been since before the bible was written, and I don't know what the answer is.

But here is where the problem with your position lies... your issue is not with marijuana, it's with HUMAN NATURE. I notice you don't talk about ALCOHOL and sex, or HEROIN and sex, which are FAR more prevalent and problematic. The issue is with substance abuse in GENERAL, along with so many other ridiculous ideas having to do with gender, biology, etc. But somehow you have wrapped the two together in your mind, and you're attacking the wrong thing.

Drawing a line in the sand? I APPLAUD that you do! Take care of your children, protect them the best you can, and do everything in your power to make sure they are safe and well. But does taking medicine from someone protect your child? No. Does alcohol prohibition save them? Do you rail at people walking into bars because alcohol could make your daughter have sex one day? NO, because that would be foolish. Do you castigate other members of the PTA for having valium, as YOUR child may one day abuse it with help from THEIR child? Again, no, because the SOURCE of the issue is NOT valium.

You see the logical fallacy in your argument? You are blaming a relatively harmless substance, which ABSOLUTELY can be abused, for a societal shift. But therein lies the issue - CANNABIS has nothing to do with that, the same as heroin, Xanax, Budweiser or Tequila have nothing to do with it. Your fears are well-founded, just misplaced.

And I have nothing to ask forgiveness for. Or, more accurately, I have MANY things to ask forgiveness for, but the god you believe in has no right to absolve me for those things. And I've never expected marijuana to "save" me, just as I've never expected Tylenol or Twinkies to save me. It is an intoxicant like any other, albeit one of the safest known to man, and not physically addictive in any way, though any addictive personality can get addicted to ANYTHING. If I had to see a youth use ANYTHING, I would consider cannabis the safest alternative.. and then ABSOLUTELY stop them from using it until legally able to make those decisions.

And that is one of the issues that legalization SOLVES for... the abuse and underage distribution of pot. In places where weed is illegal it is WAY easier for kids to access it than in places where it is legal and regulated, so one would think you would be in favour of this.

Treat marijuana JUST like alcohol, divest you mind of your moral and confused view based on a lifetime of legal suppression, and look at the FACTS. Please believe that I support you 100% in the protection of your kids - just be sure that you are protecting them from the right things, before it's too late.

If it is no longer a crime, then there is no criminality.

There are always going to be thieves and people with ill will towards others, but cannabis isn't a criminal thing in itself.

Making cannabis illegal is like outlawing cheesecake. It's awesome and people will break the "law" to consume it.

But, to be fair, cannabis is actually really good for you in moderation and cheesecake is just really good.

Hmm, I wonder if you missed the part where cannabis can actually sharpen focus, enhance your clarity of thought and help you be more productive?

Or the part where it can reduce anxiety and stress levels, allowing people to hold jobs that otherwise they couldn't?

Or how about you just google the list of VERY successful people, innovators and brilliant minds, proponents AND opponents of the government?

I mean, let's get real... are you honestly going to tell me that the activists of the 60's and 70's. rallying AGAINST government oppression and war, information suppression and racial division, weren't stoned? Like Bob Marley, for example?

Man, I like a good discussion as much as anyone, but the abject stupidity inherent in that statement makes it as good a time as any to depart for the evening.

Feel free to extract your head from your rectum and start exercising logic on your OWN behalf while I'm gone. You'll have a full night to do so, that might help!

 Quoting: kungfart

You can call bullshit all you like :) But then you can also look at the numerous studies, both in the US and Canada, proving that violent crime is much reduced where marijuana is legal.

And it makes perfect sense, to boot... nearly all crime related to marijuana is actually related to illegal trafficking, law enforcement and the growth and movement of illegal marijuana. Make it legal, you take away the incentive for criminal activity.

Unless of course you're referring to the violent assault of the refrigerator about an hour in, but that's a totally different beast laugh

Let me tell you something dimwit! Don't take this personally but FUCK YOU and your dope smoking attitude. People like you proliferate this drug abuse. This not only impacts legal aged adults but it is making this crap even more accessible to our children. It is not like drinking a beer or two. I don't condone that either but this lab grown ultra potent weed will send you for a loop all day long. Then people go to work, drive down the road, etc, etc. Great for medical use blah blah blah. Maybe it is. Make it available via prescription. The one thing I have noticed is that people will abuse the hell out of it. I have known some very smart people that had great potential get caught up in smoking dope. People become infatuated with it. Most are dirtbags digging a deeper hole. How many successful people do you know that smoke dope? I don't know a single person. It is the devils lettuce! Go ahead sell your soul to the devil and that is precisely what is wrong with people today. People seem to want to self medicate and numb themselves from this unjust world. Your moral compass is off by 180 degrees. I urge you to spend more time reading the bible and less time smoking dope. Time is short. How about standing up for something good and righteous like Jesus Christ?
 Quoting: kungfart

Please don't make Christians look stupid or bring Jesus into your opinions. Then cursing at other people...

I love Jesus and I read my Bible every day. I want to be a Christian counselor. I have autism and a nerve disorder and I've been on many prescriptions all of my life. A few years ago a US Marine risked a lot to get me cannabis oil and now I'm off all the synthetic prescriptions that were keeping me bed ridden and I'm volunteering 3 days a week at the Christian ministry.

I really don't understand where all the stigma against cannabis comes from because for the first time in my life I'm able to contribute to my community and feel like I have some worth and not a drain on society. I'm hoping to get off disability soon now.

It's not like how Hollywood made it out to be, I am able to get up and do things now with THC and CBD oil. Both of them help me. CBG also helps. CBN helps with sleep. THCV is a great antidepressant. This plant is an entire pharmacy in one plant. It's remarkable. There's 113+ different cannabinoids, not just THC and CBD. Plus terpenes come into play, over 400 compounds total. It's very narrow minded to lump high THC/low CBD strains in with low THC/high CBD strains also. Different strains do very different things.

The prescriptions would have side effect after side effect, then they would stop working. They did much more harm than good. We have an endocannabinoid system that can get deficient just like omega 3's or vitamin D. Cannabinoids are in mothers milk.

Some strains breeders did breed most of the CBD out and raised only the THC levels for the head high. I use oil that is higher in CBD but it still needs THC for the entourage effect.

Please don't talk about things you don't understand and then bring Jesus into it because you make Christians look stupid.

God made cannabis for the human body

"Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."
Genesis 1:29

It's original use was eating the raw flower or using hemp oil. Smoking it became a side use. I don't smoke it. I use the oil and also juice raw flower.

It's saved my life in many ways and made me a stronger Christian. I'm off all of the man made chemicals they made to profit off the sick for. I thank Jesus for making cannabis. I'm able to focus enough to read now where I could only use the audio Bible before. Cannabis doesn't make me lazy. I depend on it to function.

Honestly it's very hurtful to view statements like this when people like me are still fighting for this and have a very hard time getting it. We risk losing disability if we get caught, or going to jail. Our life is already bad enough and filled with pain and misery. Please leave cannabis and the disabled alone who are telling you we need this, it's the only thing keeping many of us going, many of us were suicidal before cannabis oil. It's stopped my depression and panic attacks, and stopped my nerve pain. I'm not a giggling teenage stoner, I'm a grown adult. I couldn't go in public with autism because of issues I won't get into, but now I can, and I can't explain what that means to be able to leave a room that became a prison for me for over a decade. The isolation was horrible.

It's been a very hard life and the one thing that works I have to feel like a bad Christian for using, or a criminal. It's really cruel.

It's helping 80% of kids with autism. Helping them go to school and do their schoolwork. It's allowing them to have a chance at life. They aren't stoners or potheads. And they often are using high THC oil. The stigma against cannabis is wrong. The disabled community and veterans with PTSD deserve a break, please think about people who have to use this medicine and have tried everything else and this is all that works.

Study: CBD From Marijuana Plus Chemotherapy Tripled Cancer Survival Rates In Mice (also look up GW pharmaceuticals who have been trying to patent cannabinoids for cancer treatment and for treating psychosis. THCV is going to replace anti-psychotics in the next few years.)

Sorry, this is tough issue for me, I'm really tired and want all this to be over. I don't even want cannabis to be what works, I'd do ANYTHING for one of those stupid pills to have worked so I don't have to go through this every day.

Colorado reporting in - I'm calling bullshit.

Exercise your common sense for a moment and see what it tells you.

"Of the historical material indicating the Hebraic use of cannabis, the strongest and most profound piece of evidence was established in 1936 by Sula Benet (a.k.a. Sara Benetowa), a Polish etymologist from the Institute of Anthropological Sciences in Warsaw. In 1975 Benet stated, “In the original Hebrew text of the Old Testament there are references to hemp, both as incense, which was an integral part of religious celebration, and as an intoxicant.” Through comparative etymological study, Benet documented that in the Hebrew Scriptures and their Aramaic translation, the Targum Onculos, hemp is referred to as q’neh bosm (variously translated as kaneh bosem, keneh bosem, kaniebosm) and is also rendered in traditional Hebrew as kannabos or kannabus. The root kan in this construction means “reed” or “hemp,” while bosm means “aromatic.” This word appears in Exodus 30:23, Song of Songs 4:14, Isaiah 43:24, Jeremiah 6:20, and Ezekiel 27:19. Benet’s etymological research regarding the Hebrew terms q’eneh bosem and q’eneh was based on tracing the modern word cannabis back through history to show the similarities between the cognitive pronunciation of cannabis and q’eneh bosem,*9 as well as comparing the term to the names used for cannabis by contemporary kingdoms, such as the Assyrian and Babylonian term for the plant, qunubu. In fact, the term q’neh bosem is the Hebrew transliteration of an earlier Indo-European term for the plant, canna. This term left traces through the vernacular an, seen in various modern terms for c’an’nabis, such as the Indian bh’a’ng, the French ch’an’vre, the Dutch c’an’vas, and the German h’an’ f. This use of an Indo-European word in the Semetic language shows that the ritual use of cannabis came to the Hebrews from foreign sources and as an item of trade; it retained the core aspects of its original name. Indeed, in both the Jeremiah and Ezekiel references referred to by Benet, cannabis is identified as coming from a foreign land." ~ The Pot Book (Julie Holland M.D.)

Calms them down when their testosterone is racing and spiking many times a day.

Without the side affects of prescription drugs that in turn, have side effects of causing pyschopathic and even murderous outbreaks in teens.

No one robs a bank on pot.

On crack cocaine or meth, or those things mixed with alcholol, any upper mixed with alchohol, many robberies and violence takes place, but not on pot.

How about taking a look at the stats on the Annual Causes of Death in the United States. Just compare Alcohol to Cannabis. You're arguing about cannabis. Why not look at everything that's killing people. Cannabis by the way is reporting zero deaths. Yes, there has been some mishaps by younger kiddos getting into things they shouldn't. Look it over completely. Cannabis shouldn't even concern you compared to everything else on this list. I would be more worried about Alcohol or illicit drugs or prescription drugs.

I'm a believer in Yeshua and I studied this out intensely. Also historically. And to be completely truthful, I was stunned at the absolute volume of evidence of the efficacy and NECESSITY for cannabis in the vast majority of humanity's regular routine.

It is very sad that people have had their opinions formed by reefer madness and comedy routines. A little cannabis is tremendously good for the body and mind and in a myriad of illnesses, absolutely curative.

Saying what YHVH created is bad, when He said it was good, is a poor position for a believer to hold. Genesis 1:29...Or did YHVH lie?

Eve, is that you? I think you are twisting a bit. Lets get our bibles out!

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb (including MJ?) bearing seed which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; TO YOU IT SHALL BE FOR MEAT."

It does not say for you to get high as a kite... It mentions herb and you stoners think god is talking about MJ?

The light people the light please get on the path. Break those chains the devil has put upon you! Live up to your full potential! I am just asking you to consider there is a better way. Jesus is salvation. He will free you from these burdens.

Eze_47:12  And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

And read the Book of Enoch.
