But to spread this as a legitimate doctrine when scripture is clearly indicating the opposite, is something I take issue with.

I do believe that prior to the flood humans were vegetarians. But after the Flood, I think things in our environment changed and then our bodies needed meat for some reason. I'll even say not every person NEEDS meat. But the vast majority do, and eggs are a must for brain development and function.
