This woman is from India and the song is about a girl getting married and leaving her father who has always cared for her and beginning a new life with her husband: Quoting: thinking... Forget the language (Hindi) and just imagine trying to sing in that style. Beautiful! Was she forced to marry? Which makes the song even more dramatic... thinking... User ID: 77049137 United States 01/11/2019 10:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For pure vocal quality, Edith Piaf. For style, Patsy Cline. For over all talent, Etta James. Janis totally imitated Etta. Quoting: Menrfa I'm a female vocalist, not any where near these ladies, but I have the ear to know who is truly great. Joni Mitchell was my favorite, but she was never the best of them for vocals. Judy Collins had a lovely voice, but she's no Edith Piaf. Nobody else ever was. Good distinctions. Many things make the over all package so appealing. I agree about Joni Mitchell and that has everything to do with a great writer, musician and arranger she is. Her voice, which is by no means spectacular, was only one component. Here's someone I think I think has a beautiful voice, delivery and style. Almost angelic. I would never buy her music, either, though. I just appreciate something so gorgeous: In his poem Human Pride, Marx admits that his aim is not to improve the world, reform or revolutionize it, but simply to ruin it and enjoy it being ruined: With disdain I will throw my gauntlet full in the face of the world, And see the collapse of this pygmy giant whose fall will not stifle my ardor. Then will I wander godlike and victorious through the ruins of the world And, giving my words an active force, I will feel equal to the Creator. “Looking for consciousness in the brain is like looking in the radio for the announcer.” – Nasseim Haramein, Director of Research for the Resonance Project |

Olivia Newton John and Karen Carpenter come to mind as best Female of all time. Several more if I wanted to think a bit. But not that girl. Back in my college day listening to prog and hard rock, I would be laughed out of a room if I mentioned Karen Carpenter. But now as I've aged a bit, and listened to many of her songs and watched a ton of videos, I could care what my "prog" lover peers may say. Plus, Karen was one hell of a drummer. And that's per Buddy Rich. Here is a Carpenters rendition of The Beatles "Ticket to Ride". Her contralto voice is so smooth, and her range, incredible: And her drumming from a TV special: Another one that brings a tear to my eyes. Looks like Karen was already quite ill from the anorexia at this point. May be right after her failed marriage. Such a shame for the world to lose her talent.
