Yet, there is some truth to that; since the magnetic field will flip. Sine waves will be 180 degrees out of phase and become Cosine waves. This may not mean much, but for polarized devices (larger male receptacle plug is common/ground); they may not work correctly. It all depends on phase angle and how important it is to a specific device being powered....

New washer and dryers suck. You got to was and dry 3-4 times to get equivalent wash and dry of old washer and dryer.

New dishwashers suck too. You got to wash the dishes before using it.

Memory is also dependent on magnetic field. Human brains included, not just memory sticks and chips. Someone said/wrote that especially short term memory may glitch a bit, if magnetic fields go too crazy.
We are after all tied to the fate and changes of the planet and its environment. If cosmic path in the galaxy brings change, we can ride it, not stop it.
