All orphans deserve an intact home and family.

That said:

1. Few people want to adopt American ni@@lets. Far to challenging... culturally.

2. Many ni@@let orphans in America are in the foster care system. Children who become adoptable through
foster care have been bounced back and forth in dysfunctional situations to the point that they have some
very intense psychological special needs.

3. Age: Most adoptive parents want infants they can raise as their own.

4. Many of the children available in the U.S. have congenital health problems, such as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome,
AIDS, and drug addiction. Adoptive parents want healthy children.

5. Adoption Process: To adopt from a public agency, where most of the children are available, is a very long,
intense process. Prospective parents undergo background checks worthy of the most top secret clearances —
finances, employment, health, stability. It can take years to be approved.

6. The system in America is terribly broken. You can adopt a child here that you have been told was
legally adoptible, when suddenly a family member or tribe will appear that no one knew about and want
their child. Most of the time, they win.

There are many many many more reasons, some heartbreaking but nonetheless true.

Regardless of WHERE an orphaned child originates, those adult couples (fags excluded) who bring one into their
family should be commended.
