Trump's comment may not be unfriendly to us, we'll have to wait and see.

H1-B's used to ASSUME there was a path to citizenship for them, just hang out long enough for an employer to sponsor them for a green card. Now Trump is saying there's only a "potential path". Doesn't sound like it's getting closer for them.

We want to encourage talented people to stay here. But I do think the bar might be quite a bit higher than it is now. We can benefit from a few exceptional people, so give them a path to citizenship. Throw the rest back, to make their own countries great. Make the process very competitive for them against each other and somehow extract the benefit for the public, not for private corporate profit.
