In the decades I've attended Mormon churches, I've never once heard the word "polygamy" inside the buildings. Mormons teach their kids the following: Joseph Smith prayed to god asking which church was true. God told him that none were true, and to start his own church. Like Jesus, people did not want to listen to him. Joseph Smith died as a martyr. SOURCE: Grew up Mormon- most of my family is still active. |

Billy, I concur that humanity as a whole is completely programmed subconsciously from their parents and relatives after they are born. Since the mind is like a blank computer and is then programmed. but at some point we all get a reasoning capacity. I struggle with it myself being a Christian, but the evidence is stacked SOOOO heavily against Mormonism from an observational standpoint, its baffling to me, guys like MITT ROMNEY? And who is that other GOP guy that was against Ttrump. the handsome guy just retired. Yeah him.. Roman Stone |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77045144 United States 01/12/2019 01:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Turns out as they were moving from N.Y. headed west Quoting: RichardHead At one city (Nauvoo, IL) Joseph was like a town leader and he told his followers that much like Moses in the promised land. They (Mormons) were the CHOSEN people and were destined to OWN the land? Part of his "United order." WUT>>?? YES apparently he was that blatant. Can you imagine some blow hole rolls into the city you live in and you find out he is saying HIS PEOPLE are destined for THE LAND YOU LIVE ON? Much like Moses and Elijah. Yeah, Well thats what he did. To add insult to injury and what got him and the brother killed was apparently a newspaper in Nauvoo was started to specifically criticize polygamy and the Mormon problem. In fact that was their first issue >>> criticizing them <<<. Joseph was a city councilman and he actually called for the destruction of the press AND the building???? HELLO and he even declared Marshall (spelled wrong just to piss off GLP grammar nazis) Law. OK. Duh.. what a jerk!! Add to that him finding a couple golden tablets in a N.Y. forest with the angel MORONi and youve got the makings of an extraordinary cult. I dont get it! I dont get all the Mormon practitioners with a documented history like they have? I was born in Carthage, the town where they were murdered, and your information is correct. They tried to take over, believing j.smith, their phoney prophet, like Islam does today. You can learn a lot about how a small town can stand up for their religious freedom, how they drove those petty tyrants out, and kept the remaining ones in their place. |

Excellent recounting of Mormon roots and that pile of shit conman Joe Blow Smith. In all honesty, it appears that Brigham Young and pals let him die and were probably thrilled to be rid of him. He was a liability, fucking people's wives and dayghters, pissing of locals, getting the Mormons burned out of everywhere. Brigham Young was much smarter and had a real vision for the future of the church that included wealth and statehood and politics and power. Joseph Smith couldn't keep his dick to himself and his ass out of jail. He was a low IQ two bit grifter and Brigham had big dreams, which he was able to realize after he let an angry mob handled his Joseph problem. Last Edited by EliseM1896 on 01/12/2019 02:01 AM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76766577 United States 12/04/2019 09:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Besides the fact that LDS beliefs and practices contradict the KJ Bible throughout, branding the movement like any other false religion (and its leader a false prophet), I want to comment on Mormons individually. Just my experience, but I haven't known a single LDS who isn't sweet and nice... with a fat layer of arrogance and worldly proclivity underneath. When you see it, the chaliced air of superiority they carry under guise, it's repulsive to a Christian.. and then you learn their programming and your jaw hits the floor.. Hey LDS, every wonder why the greatest Christian leaders on earth look at you like heretics?.. Don't you think that if you were holy and chosen (by God) that just one great fundamentalist Christian church would recognize you and grant you their respect?.. These are blessed churches I'm referring to, churches full of the holy spirit, doing the greatest works for God, not secretive cults.. And they look at you like poor fools, too proud for God's church, greedy for more than God's perfect book, gambling your salvation on a silver-tongued pervert of whom the holy Bible strikes down as a wicked false prophet, over and over throughout. |
