A little suffering once in a while is needed to ward off much bigger suffering, like exercising so you don't die from heart attack later. No pain no gain! Regular people do that their whole lives! We don't just take $ from others at gunpoint (IRS). |

Deplorable NO MORE Michele B User ID: 74536121 United States 01/12/2019 12:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Non-essential is the legal term. That includes janitorial contracts (essentials take out their own trash and do the sweep-down/vacuuming), snow removal company retainers (one-time emergency funds pay a local company), various paper shuffling jobs that fulfill legal requirements to initiate new contracts (now they are suspended) and these kinds of things. Essential services are all funded but it means those people do the services jobs previously done by non-essentials. That means the workday for the essentials is split and reduced into only having enough time in the day to perform only the highest priority tasks. The other essential service tacks are put on a worklist for later. Interestingly, one of the branches of government that is MOST affected is the Executive Branch... with the West Wing of the White House itself severely impacted. There is some measure of social justice going on in those offices today as those smugly superior souls have to empty their own trashcans and file their own docs because over 3/4 of the staffing is sitting at home watching it snow outside. Oh, interesting concept. Is that why POTUS keeps tweeting he’s all ALONE at the WH? |
Draxx them Sklounst User ID: 58722632 United States 01/12/2019 12:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No sympathy. Whatever happened to saving for a rainy day? Whatever happened to living below your means? People today are greedy, materialistic, and entitled. I've been laid off several times in my life in the private sector. I've had to go home from work when there wasn't enough work to be done - and I didn't get back pay. Government workers are part of the problem - people who want to be coddled and taken care of. A distant relative who works for the Feds said a few years ago, "I'm doing alright," back when others were struggling. To work for the govt. is to border on being a traitor, imo. |

Apparently federal workers are so used to overspending on budgets, they even do it in their personal lives. If they make over 100k a year and one paycheck miss is going to wipe them out... If I make 100k I have to make sure that I have enough money to live on My off season which is generally 6 to 7 months so they won't get no sympathy from me. Pussy Grabber Extraordinaire |
Tyrone Slothrop (OP) User ID: 76219774 United States 01/12/2019 12:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Let me add this about government workers. 1. No government worker has EVER made a product or performed a service that anyone has bought voluntarily. 2. I think, but I'm not sure, federal workers take an oath, and they swear to uphold the US Constitution. So consider that oath, and what they do, and that should tell you something about their integrity. Their loyalty is to their paycheck. I've gotten a lot of red for telling the truth and being right. Just sayin' |

An athlete paid their mortgage. (The father of her babies does not have the same last name. I searched in case you're wondering who he is.) Exactly, no one on MSM anyways. I've watched several hardcore liberals turn Republican. I grew up in military family. There are lots of resources available to them. In fact, they all can get very low apr loans. But in the end... The Dems are fighting for their illegal profits. In order for them to keep control they need to keep paying people off. CNN only support Dems because they get a pretty penny for it. Once that cash flow stops, CNN will stop working for Dems. Time for the hammer to drop! God Bless you |

A: In most states, including the District of Columbia, employees who receive unemployment benefits and also later receive a retroactive payment from their employer for the same time period will be required to repay the unemployment benefits received. Q: Can my wages be garnished if there is an overpayment of benefits? A: Yes, if the state law has provisions for wage garnishments. However, employees will be given the opportunity to voluntarily repay the overpayment first before the state proceeds with any garnishments.
