They are required to work for pay that is being deferred an indeterminate period of time. If they take time off to work another job, they can't use leave, so they lose that pay. It sucks.
Quoting: NawtyBits Someone put a gun to your head and make you work? I thought the draft ended. It sucks you won't get paid for not working? Welcome to real life. Except real life people who get laid off can't go back to the same job. Stop whining, snowflake. Quoting: Weyoun No, it sucks being forced to work and not receive your regular paycheck. I'm not whining. I retired a year ago. I'm still getting paid. Not my problem. I'm addressing some of the misconceptions. There's a big difference between being laid off and working for deferred compensation. Quoting: NawtyBits No one is being forced to work. The draft ended long ago. Quoting: Weyoun Well, I would offer that a very high percentage of people are "forced to work" to pay their mortgages/rent, utilities, food, clothing. I would bet 80-90% of people on GLP couldn't afford to not be paid, they live paycheck to paycheck.
