Uncle up in NOVA said he's expecting 8 inches.

a thin line here down around Richmond where some people will get 6 inches, others including my area expecting just 1 or 2... might get nasty for a bit.

I really appreciate Joe Bastardi's frank take on all sorts of weather... political included

the shutdown does not impact his ability to forecast, but it does make it harder to post historic analog years to what he is predicting currently

I am in Northwest Indiana. Depending on how the winds are, we could get 3-5 inches or get slammed. Then, depending on the wind, we could get slapped with Lake Effect Snow.I am about 5 miles south of Lake Michigan.

hope you are ready for the more and the less....

just in case, I want to post a website I found useful recently.

It is a national power outage finder. you click on a state and there is a wealth of information by county. it updates every few minutes.

if a friend or relative is in an unexpected outage, you can look on this tool and get LOTs of information and links

[link to poweroutage.us (secure)]

the blue states can have minor/medium outages, all states have lots of information.

great to find out if your own outage is isolated or widespread, or provide information to others about their own situation
