What keeps you motivated to keep on going??

Just a natural response to unforeseen stimuli. This earth has an expiration date. All creation groans for the coming of the Lord! King of Kings!

Jesus Christ experienced MURDER ... nobody can "die " for you. What part of hanging on a cross do you not comprehend? When you come to the realization that life has no inherent meaning or purpose - we just make it up or somebody imprints meaning and purpose into our psyche - the best thing to do is find a reason to laugh at it. Go to Youtube and listen to some Alan Watts lectures. He talks about it all the time, and it's really good for some deep-thought chuckles!

Carl Jung said - I paraphrase here - that The Mind of Man goes Mad at the prospect of Life without Meaning or Purpose. But the Buddist would reply, "Let the mind go mad! YOU are not the mind." You are merely the observer. Separate yourself from the suffering/despair/depression. YOU are not depressed, you are merely EXPERIENCING depression. Stand back from yourself forty-thousand feet and see the despair. The despair is merely a visitor to your observation.

Maybe there is no real meaning or purpose to life, but if you can let go of the need for it, there is no reason that Joy and Bliss cannot visit you frequently, as well!

You are out of your fu&king mind. The Lord, "said if I wanted an army of angels to come an help I would", but he had to die for us for reasons you can not possible understand. Nothing to do with humans in many respects.

Funny you bring up rock collecting. Spent most of my life borderline poor. Worked like a dog, one foot in front of the other, day by day. Looked forward every year to vacation time so I could put the wife and kids in the 4x4 and head out to Colorado and Utah to look for rocks and fossils.

That and collecting Insulators and guns got me through the years. I retired nine years ago and have zero debt, and hopefully enough coin socked away to last till I take my last breath.

I can do pretty much whatever I want now, buy whatever I want. But when you boil it all down, stuff is just stuff. What really matters is family and good friends. That, and the travels and experiences you share with them. A lot of Gods Beauty out their to be enjoyed. Don't let the toxic people in society ruin it.

Countless numbers have felt as you, including myself.

Jesus Christ was the sacrifice for the sin of everyone who accepts God's grace for all time. The only requirement is you have faith and accept him as your savior.

Though I may live many years, the relative time I spend in the fullness of eternity in this form in this world is not even an atom.

Knowing that Jesus saved me with his sacrifice, and that it is purely by God's grace, is the knowledge of the light and truth that will truly set you free.

It will not mean, since we are human, that we will not experience bad times in this world in this relative instant in time. But it means we can find whatever we need to move forward through faith and prayer.

Not trying to in any way to force anything on you, but simply sharing the answer to your question that I eventually found through Jesus Christ.

It is there for everyone that seeks.

The fear of karmic retribution if I were to give up.

My belief that we all have lessons to learn and a role to play in the greater scheme of things, no matter how shitty things seem in the moment.

My hope that I can still change the world for the better in some small way.

The thought of how sad my family would be if i was gone, is what keeps me going

I sometimes envision killing myself, only to return as a ghost that sees my family members and people I care about going through bad shit in life, shit that maybe I could have prevented from happening had I not ended my life prematurely. I'm not sure if this is a healthy practice or not however.

Well, it's all divine bliss, but it generally needs to be isolated to be realized. Quell the senses and desire, or think only of Christ, etc.; it's all about narrowing focus like the sunlight with a lens.

An indefatigable ability to persevere and help others in times of adversity.

Others don't understand it, but it is 'how I was made'.

I know I was being rough on tray ding, even acerbic...but like I said, time is short.

A recent study proved that 80% of people don’t have an inner monologue aka thinking outside of what they see in front of them.

Some of what you're going through is why certain people are interested in doom or something so earth-shattering occurring, that they and the rest of humanity are forced into a whole new reality.

The idea of ghosts is way more than strictly a movie like "Sixth Sense" or the Twilight Zone. Reality may have boundaries far beyond where we're accustomed to being.

That's cool but I was referring to in a more universal sense. Like how do you keep your spirits up in a world that sometimes seem to only grow darker and darker.

Sleep is my greatest motivator.

Well rested gives me a clear head and replenished body to push forward.
