If she is, the democrats will go into a frenzy and attempt the following:

1) To hide the fact that she is dead until they (see 2)
2) Get Trump removed from office by any means necessary.

You see how hard they are fighting Trump on this wall business? And although it is true the wall is needed and will genuinely provide some security (and consequently slow the growth of democrat voter population), the wall is mostly a symbolic thing. They are fighting tooth and nail to prevent a mostly symbolic victory by Trump.

Now, appointing another conservative justice? That isn't symbolic at all. That's fucking huge. Really, the Supreme Court is THE major power. The entire direction of our country is decided by these people - what is and isn't freedom of speech, when it is and is not okay to kill the unborn, whether or not we are allowed to own firearms, who can marry whom...Every unjust law handed down by an oppressive government, and every righteous protection outlined by our noble forefathers, and any legislation passed or order decreed by any of the other branches, can be upheld or struck down by nine people.

The ideology that has majority there controls the direction of our republic. One more conservative appointment would solidify our control over this country for DECADES to come.

You think they're fighting dirty now by trying to pin something on Trump in regards to hooker scandals or Russian collusion, wait until there's another supreme court vacancy. They will pull out all the stops - any pretense of civility will be ripped away and they will show how rabid they are - they will show how little they care for the people of this country and the rule of law. They will lie, they will fabricate evidence, they will frame. They may even attempt worse.

I hope I'm wrong, though, but I really fear what they might do to prevent another Trump appointee.

They are waiting to declare Ruth's death AFTER the Muller report. Why? Because they need the Muller report to have a reason to impeach Trump. Their argument then will be Trump can't pick a SC member, he's being impeached!! They will drag this out until 2020 to prevent him getting another pick.
