Study finds that Vegan's have twice a many sick days
[link to www.mirror.co.uk (secure)]

Vegans take the most days off work due to cold, flu and minor ailments, a study claims.

People on a meat-free diet take almost five days off work a year - twice the annual sick day total of the average Briton, the research shows.

And it also found that millennial workers take three times more time off work than those aged 55 and over.

What many vegans don't know is that farmers put only 3 of the 91 required Vitamins, Minerals, Amino Acids, and Essential Fatty Acids back into the depleted soil in most all industrialized farming countries, including the USA. They have to take supplements if they are going to go vegan. Vegan diets are also associated heavily with depression for the same reasons.

Vegans are easily identified because I've never met one that wasn't pale as a ghost and sick looking. Even many vegetarians have that sickly look to them.

Re: Study finds that Vegan's have twice a many sick days
To have a good diet and proper nutrition take a lot of work and effort and expense whether you eat meat or not. I know someone who eats a lot of meat who is sick more than anyone else at work. I also know 4 vegan people who are the healthiest people I have ever known, and get more done with a better attitude. But it certainly isn't because they don't eat meat. They have taken an idea of improving their diet and health, and implemented it as consistently as they can. You could get the same results with a diet that included meat, if you put as much work and effort and expense and time and energy into it as the vegan people I know do.

What I mean to say is, you can be just as sickly on a diet that includes meat, as you can on a vegan diet, if you don't spend a lot of time reading, researching, shopping, preparing and cooking food, planning meals ahead, bringing your lunches with you when you're away from home, etc.

It's a lot of work but worth it if it keeps you out of the hospital.

I spend a lot of money on food supplements, vitamins, minerals and herbs, and I justify by saying that nothing is more expensive than missing work. I don't get paid sick days, or not many anyway, and so if I miss work it is a huge hit to my budget. Would rather spend the money on quality produce and quality groceries, and experiment with vitamins, minerals and herbs to keep me physically active and performing at my physical job at my age, pushing 60.

Re: Study finds that Vegan's have twice a many sick days
Who pins this shite?

Seriously... Mirror? It's like a British tabloid.

This "study" of only 1000 people proves nothing.

There are wrong ways of being vegan, which leads to malnutrition. And right ways, which lead to a happy and healthy body. Same goes for an omnivore diet with moderate meat consumption.

I've been on a plant-based diet for nearly 10 years. Never been sick once within that decade! I juice, make incredible smoothies, cook lots of yummy Asian/Indian cuisines, ancient grains instead of wheat or rice, and occasional "vegan junk" food like veggie burgers. Although the ones I get aren't even too bad: organic, low sodium, soy & gluten free and 20 g of protein!

Anyone can be as healthy as they want to be, regardless of dietary labels.

Aren't we supposed to question the status quo on a conspiracy website? Sure, I mostly went vegan for animal rights, environmental and health purposes. But most importantly, it was a giant middle finger to "the man".

Vote with your dollars!

That's why globalists are pushing this veganism because they want you to be malnourished with a compromised immune system and to dumb you down so you are easier to control and to eliminate you from the gene pool. Humans are not herbivores but omnivores that need both meat and plants in order to be healthy and globalists know that so that's why they push this veganism and hide it behind saving the environment and the so called ethical treatment of animals. Never mind that animals eat other animals and its all part of nature and the food chain let's ignore reality. Globalists are even wanting your cats and dogs to go vegan so they become sickly and die. That's animal abuse.

Including eggs and dairy products in a vegetarian diet, not going totally vegan, is better. Plus taking vitamin/mineral supplements. Works for me.

I couldn't become a vegetarian, let alone vegan. Can't eat alot of eggs or beans actually, they really upset my system and when we tried for a number months to stop eating meat, became very ill!

Your body tells you what you're lacking and need.

This planet needs to be upgraded, but we're in body suits that require animal protein.

The elite know people are not going to go to all that bother and expense to eat healthy as it is too expensive and complicated for the average person to do. Most likely if the average person goes vegan or vegetarian they will do it very badly and the global elite know this that's why they push it. Veganism and vegetarianism done really badly is worse than your average slobs diet that includes meat.

Even if you supplement correctly to compensate for your vegan or vegetarian diet, it is not the same as getting these minerals, amino acids and vitamins naturally occurring in your meat. Your body does not absorb things as well in pill form and synthetic form. Nobody should go on a very restrictive diet if they don't have to unless it's for medical reasons such as food allergies or because you have some chronic disease.

Nah, actually it's empathetic, conscious, responsible and moral people pushing veganism. Not globalists.

Globalists are in bed with the giant corporations who are reaping the profits off the mass slaughter of sentient beings. Tptb aren't just going to pull a 180 and cut profits to their factory farm buddies by promoting veganism. How is that logical at all?

My immune system is in better shape than it has been in the past 10 years! Only lifestyle change: plant-based diet! Haven't been dumbed down either, thank you very much. You speak like you know an entire group of people better than themselves. That's like me saying all meat-eaters are brainwashed dumbies being killed off by cancer and heart disease.

You obviously don't know anything about a plant-based diet.

Who cares if animals eat other animals! Are you an animal?! No!

"But muh canine teeth, herp de deep!" NO! Look at a Lion's canines and then look at yours. Are they really comparable? No. Do you eat meat raw after a fresh kill? No.

Anyways dietary labels isn't the point. The point is, stop falling for this fake news. Anyone can be as healthy as they want. I know plenty of healthy and unhealthy vegans. I also know plenty of healthy and unhealthy omnivores.

I can agree with you that cats and dogs should absolutely not be vegan. Reducing their animal protein consumption is animal cruelty, especially for cats.

Including eggs and dairy products in a vegetarian diet, not going totally vegan, is better. Plus taking vitamin/mineral supplements. Works for me.
 Quoting: 3643297

Yes, I've been vegetarian since the mid 1970s, and the years (or decades) when I hardly ate eggs at all were not good years for my nerves. Lately I've been cutting back a little on dairy products though, mainly to lose weight. I'm with you on the supplements, wouldn't matter if you were vegan, vegetarian or omnivorous, you are better off if you take dietary supplements in my opinion.

Meat -- does a body good!

Everything a body needs, in fact.

 Quoting: Adytum

I'm not a vegan but a vegetarian. The last time I was sick was with a minor cold that lasted 2 days, and that was three years ago. Actually, every cold that I've had as far back as I can remember lasted 2-3 days. Other than that, I never get sick with anything. I haven't eaten meat or chicken in 28 years.

As far as colds go, at the first sign of a cold I take
Cold-eeze. It's supposed to shorten the length of a cold, and I believe it does in my case. But the colds are few and far between.

I'm a bit superstitious so I hesitate to say this, but my immune system is obviously excellent. Many people I know that are around my age or younger take medicine, i.e. blood pressure medicine, cholesterol medicine. I don't take anything except a variety of vitamins.

And I've never had the flu nor every taken a flu shot.

Re: Study finds that Vegan's have twice a many sick days
Including eggs and dairy products in a vegetarian diet, not going totally vegan, is better. Plus taking vitamin/mineral supplements. Works for me.

That's because it's hard to get all you need nutritiously from the average modern diet. Even in ancient times people struggled to get all the proper minerals and vitamins they needed to be healthy. Plus some people have gut issues that make absorbing certain vitamins and minerals more difficult therefore develop deficiencies in one or more minerals and vitamins.
