in the video he talks about rays of the sun being stronger than on earth.. which they should be.
the 'dark side' is not dark it is light for much of the day like we experience it on earth, it appears dark to us because we never see it from earth.
the video does not mention if the environment is heated where the sprouting is taking place, I have to assume that is the case.
