Fuckers had extra money on their EBT's and used it thinking it may be a mistake so they spent it.

Yeah, I heard someone else's phone go off with that alert yesterday too. It was only one phone though (out of about 10 in the immediate area.) Mine didn't get an alert, so I have no idea what it said.

However, my phone did an automatic update last night (THAT I DID NOT SCHEDULE OR WANT!)

I did have a message on that though. It said that there was a necessary Android update and then to go to settings for wifi. It then asked if I wanted to silence notifications or not. Seems like a weird question for an update.

Makes you wonder...

I used to work at a grocery store years ago. They always ordered heavy for the first of the month because of EBT's.
Dialed down later in the month unless there was a holiday.
Most of those people who call or look up their balance saw they had extra mid month are spending it. They think if they don't, it won't be there next month. Most know nothing about it being Feb payment.

Not really. I've lurked this place for a while. I see a lot of weak doom threads, but they are usually buried very quickly. This one has 15 pages worth of replies that piled on very rapidly, and it has been pinned. That's unusual for a such a low quality prediction, especially when the OP stopped responding on the first few pages.

I guess, we haven't had any real plausible-sounding doom threads in so long that people jumped on this out of sheer boredom... but this is scraping the bottom of the doom barrel.

Depends where you live. In my liberal area, everytime a snowstorm is predicted the shelves become empty of water, toilet paper, milk, etc., as is the case this weekend. Obviously around here people only have one day's worth of food and supplies.

I haven't been on GLP as long as many of you, and certainly not as long as the OP. That's not a bad thing since you need fresh perspectives, instead of blind loyalty without questioning. Here's my observations:

Could the OP be right? Maybe, maybe not. Part of him is acting like a Rosicrucian. The other part of him (mainly his arrogance and attitude and delivery of his intel) contradicts this. So, the OP might be an a major asshole with Rosicrucian intel. Its due to the respect some of us have for this op.

My mom in law thought she had extra, didn't know why, I explained the situation. She thanked me for telling her, otherwise her son would have spent it already. She only gets $120 per month, 70 yrs old, dementia, about $800 in SS. We help her out though. Some people really need it, I don't begrudge those at all. Her son on the otherhand doesnt work and leeches what little she does have.

Here's another idea. If someone were to declare a national emergency against those bringing crime into our country. You can't honestly declare and emergency and sit around waiting and doing nothing anywhere else however many months for a wall to be built. You need to support that declaration with action. This could be active enforcement being deployed to support against that criminal action until the wall is done. It could be a broader form of action by providing personnel to 'clean up' other areas internally to ensure when the wall is done there aren't cockroaches in the pantry so to speak. On the furthest side it could be active attempts to squash not only those who the wall is intended to have kept out, but those that are acting treasonously against the national declaration of an emergency. Again..trying to put the flat sides of the jigsaw puzzle together so the whole picture can be seen easier.

And it all could be someone over reacting to news they clumped together. 90% is far from accurate.
