Everyone here knows how to cut hair. It is literally cents to get a haircut. We go to a nice place and pay q15 (less than $2).

Overweight? Worms and parasites causing puffiness. Think of Ethiopians. Also, no one here wants to eat fruits and veggies. They live on bread products-tortillas, breads, etc.

The caravan went through here just a few days ago. They are Central American. There are a lot of kids. We'll see if they're switched out in Mexico like the first group was.

Everyone has an android phone here. You can get one pretty cheap, and you can buy cards for like $5 to put minutes or data on your phone.

Rent is not cheap in Panama City. I don't know about elsewhere in Latin America, but here the rent is comparable to rent in the USA.

I agree with you on that. The overwhelming majority of them are economic migrants, not legitimate asylum seekers.

What's that about kids being "switched out"? Yeah lots of kids coming for free food and education in USA, they're already in Mexico now. Governments aren't doing anything serious to stop them. AMLO actually doing less than Pena Nieto did, it seems.

I haven't heard of anything like section 8 here. I wouldn't know. I'm an American expat and don't qualify for any programs like that even if they did have them.
