If women are going to dye their hair anyway, why not choose a decorative color? It's not like tattoos or nose rings which are things you do to cattle. Decorating your hair can look very interesting.

Now, I've never actually met an interesting woman who decorated her hair that way. But I don't see why it couldn't be.
