Much easier than listening to the Spanish and English together. Just listening to Maduro speaking, he was asked during the press conference if he's open to communicating with Guaido. After speaking for a while, answering this question, Maduro is now saying that late at night, on Jan 22 (just two days before Guaido declared himself President) between 11 and 12 o'clock, on the top floor of a hotel, Guaido came to meet with Maduro. He's describing how Guaido was dressed in a pullover, baseball cap and in a hoodie, with the hood covering his head, so he could not be seen by anyone. When Maduro asked him why he dressed like that, he said that he didn't want anyone to see him meeting with Maduro. Then the two of them talked a long time . . . . .. to be continued! So the socialist states when threatened with interference from imperialist intervention in their country, (as they would put it), would be much more willing to put aside their dissatisfaction with their any pre-existing dismal internal situation to fight against the enemy trying to meddle in their internal affairs. Therefore, Trump could have made a mistake in publicly backing the opposition Guaido against Maduro. Venezuela could have ended up imploding by the end of the year, and it might still do that, but as I see it Trump hasn't done himself any favours. There will be more Venezuelans keen to support Maduro than there was before Trump opened his big mouth. I'm not a fan of either communism or capitalism. Communists are guilty of many crimes too. That's a death sentence. So is what the translator says there wrong? Here . . [link to youtu.be (secure)] . . .the translator says that Maduro is saying . . . cases of vandalism will be investigated and I want twenty years maximum prison sentence in those cases where human beings are killed or maltreated" That's different from what you say. I'm presuming you're spanish speaking (from your name) but the translator says something different from you. I've heard that Venezeulan prisons can be pretty bad, I doubt that anybody would see through a twenty-year sentence. But I don't really know... Yeah, for sure. But my question was for Spanish Guy (who you were replying to) because he said that Maduro was saying that he wanted 20 year prison sentence just for acts of vandalism (burnin tires, etc) . .but at the link I gave, to the video of Maduro speaking, the English translator doesn't say that. Spanish_guy isn't helping much to dispel Maduro's claim that the Spanish govt. are going against the Maduro govt.. |
