Lies/misconceptions covered:

2) Secretary of State Pompeo and others claim that Cuba is involved in Venezuela.
3) Maduro won the presidential election by "stuffing the ballot boxes" (as claimed by the UK representative at the UNSC meeting yesterday)
4) The "international community" accepted the U.S. sponsored dude's presidential claim.
5) Economic mismanagement caused the problems in Venezuela.
6) Guaido (or as the article refers to him, “the U.S. sponsored dude”) is somewhat prominent.

Re No. 6 above:

Félix Seijas, a political analyst and director of the Delphos polling agency, said surveys showed that few Venezuelans even knew Guaidó’s name a few weeks ago. The dude is simply a stand-in for Leopoldo López, a criminal opposition politician who already twice attempted violent coups:

In a 2009 classified cable published by Wikileaks, the political counsellor of the US embassy in Caracas, Robin D Meyer, wrote that López had become a "divisive figure within the opposition"

"He is often described as arrogant, vindictive, and power-hungry - but party officials also concede his enduring popularity, charisma, and talent as an organiser," the US diplomat wrote.

In the U.S. the real man behind the coup attempt is anti-Cuban Senator Marco Rubio:

China only just recently overtook the USA as the world's leading net importer of oil. The US therefore relies on cheap oil to sustain its economy as well as weakening its international enemies such as Iran, Russia, Venezuela, all whom are dependent on oil revenues. The neocons are often pressuring the Saudis, sometimes successfully, to supply more oil to the market pushing down prices further.

‘Attack orchestrated from Washington’: Cuba slams US for ‘meddling’ accusation on Venezuela

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has rejected US accusations that his country is “meddling” in Venezuela, and accused Washington of trying to “orchestrate” a coup to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro.

Rodriguez’ comments came after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused Cuban “security and intelligence thugs” of propping up Maduro’s regime in his UN Security Council speech.

By saying that it means Maduro, Putin and Xi have to factor in something they'd rather not deal with, with any moves played...

Plus that's a standard response and doesn't show your hand early.

The US is somewhat selfsufficent in oil, and roughly 40% of exports come from Canada...

The US has become number one on production of oil and can manipulate the market in a variety of ways, restricting other nations production capabilities will not only drive up oil prices but it would allow the US to cash in hard, another way is as you stated increase production of other nations to bring prices down...

I believe we are at a point where the intent to manipulate others capability to produce so the market goes in favour of the US directly allowing it to become a net exporter, and allowing the US to stem the flow of oil at any time it choses to China and other nations, it also takes away financial sources from nations like Iran and now Venezualea who was recently a top 5 nation the US imported from...

If SHTF the US would be in a energy advantage, but that's not the goal the goal is to win big and reduce debt, war is the likely consenqunce.

I don't know where you got that idea from because it simply isn't that case that the US is self sufficient in crude oil, not in the slighest. Even with Canada excluded the U.S. is heavily dependent on its oil from other countries.

As such, the US cannot afford supply disruption because even a moderate rise in the oil price starts to be detrimental to the US economy.

The US is trying to become less dependent on their oil from the middle east and the Saudis, particuarly with the strained relations due to the Khashoggi killing. So now they are trying to force the US-backed coup in Venezuela so they can secure their much needed oil resource from there.

Interesting but unsurprising report yesterday from Caracas:

Guaido carries a 70% disapproval rating, which is only 10% less unfavourable than the other opposition parties.

Guaido hasn't been seen speaking to ordinary Venezuelans about their concerns in an effort to win their support, which you would surely expect if he genuinely cared about the people - so it seems clear he is following orders from Washington.

All in all the coup attempt is failing miserably as no one is paying much attention to Guaido's repeated calls to overthrow the Maduro govt.

A few hundred guys with rifles. Have they lost control of Caracas, is that why they're out in the countryside?

Unsurprising from RT given that Russia supports Maduro.

Unsurprising considering that US neocon interventionists are about as popular as a fárt in an elevator.
