The only thing "socialist" about Venezuela is they want the profits from their oil sales to be re-invested in their own people and actually rather than be stolen by greedy US corporations and their owners which don't care about re-investing that much of their wealth back into people/economy.

So basically, in Venezuela being pro-socialist is just another term for being pro-Venezuela national sovereignty.
