Just some thinking out loud . . . have been floating the idea of why Venezuela is so important to the U.S. Basically America invades Venezuela, takes the oil then Israel and the U.S. hit Iran . . .

That way with Venezuela in the U.S's possession then the U.S. doesn't have to worry about Iran shutting down the Straits of Hormuz and choking the oil supply. America will have the largest oil field in the world to make up for it. Just a thought.

The US oil imports wouldn't be majorly effected should the strait be closed. Only about 10% comes from the Gulf. The US still receives oil from Venezuela. Most comes from Canada.
