In perfect world Maduro would step down and Venezuelan people would chose their new government through fair elections. But not like this, what they offer them now is an American puppet, hand picked by foreigners for their own motives. A government like this is not there for the people it is there to serve interest of foreign capital. Nothing would change for Venezuelan people if Guaido would come to power. He would privatize oil industry, invite foreign oil magnats and then the talk about suffering Venezuelan people would stop.

I completely agree with the above with the exception that her was duly elected by the citizens of Venezuela not only once but twice. He has the support of his country. Guido on the other hand is solely supported by the wealthy of and foreign interest in exploiting Venezuela. To profit the greedy. They do not care about the people's quality of life, they only care about money

Hence why economic sanctions were not enough to fold venezuela. They had to attack the infrastructure and try turning the populace against him.. but even that will not deter the heart of the country.. just an opinion based on the facts I've seen occurring since our heightened involvement and obstruction with the economy of this country

We have to be fair though about previous elections. I don't think they were completely fair and done by western standards but even so, nobody can deny that communist revolution in Venezuela still has a lot of supporters.

The civility of conversation for a chance is refreshing. Although and even if the elections were as you put it "not par to western standards" doesn't mean that the country was suffering because of it. We all believe that others can do a better job than some. But prior to our unsolicited involvement, the country of Venezuela had a prosperous and stable economy that benefited the many over the few. Greed and control are the factors at play with the interest of western interaction there
