Don't meddle in things you know nothing of, Slovenia

I support President Assad in Syria and Russia's efforts there. I think it is better for the West to have a secular leader there and he is the lesser and neccesary evil. He has had to make difficult choices and I know it has not been easy for him.

Having said that, Venezuela's problem is about CORRUPTION of the elite. If you are corrupt, socialism is a very unjust system. If you are massively corrupt, socialism will destroy your society. Only Maduro is to blame for Venezuela's problem, the only sanctions that were put forward by United States affected the State employees and top leaders of Maduro's party. It is not true to say that Venezuela was under an economic blockade like Cuba or North Korea. That's plainly wrong... Maduro has destroyed Venezuela's economy and he should resign over it, that's the truth. Don't be blindsided by imperialism/anti-imperialism...

^^Sorry but this is utter bullshit and ignorance, regurgitation from globalist MSM. The world doesn't work in a way where everything is black or white. To put all of the blame at the feet of side A or side B is gross oversimplification of things.

US actions are heavily responsible for Venezuela's problems. The US globalists been destabilizing the country ever since Chavez came to power, even leading to a short lived coup at one point. Sanctions don't have to be placed directly on Venezuela to do damage either. US Sanctions are placed on those who do business with PDVSA which prevents Venezuela from selling their oil at prices they want or prevents it being sold at all. This sort of thing intends to act as a sledgehammer to the Venezuela economy and the quality of life for Venezuelans.

You have an interesting idea of what socialism is. Poverty in Venezuela was much WORSE before the anti-globalists Chavez and Maduro came to power. For all talk of "socialism" Venezuela's economy is actually dominated by private ownership and capitalism, at ratio of 70% against 30%.

for balance...

watch @AbbyMartin interview with Venezuela's economic minister. The man elucidates the very way the US economic siege war is being waged.

This video is from two years ago...

Empire Files: Venezuela Economy Minister—Sabotage, Not Socialism, is the Problem

Today in the corporate media, Venezuela’s economic problems are used to paint the country as a failed state, in need of foreign-backed regime change.

To get the Bolivarian government’s side of the crisis, Abby Martin interviews Venezuela’s Minister of Economic Planning, Ricardo Menéndez. They discuss shortages, oil dependency, the role of the US-backed opposition movement and more.

The Empire Files joined him in Cojedes, Venezuela, where he was speaking to mass community meetings, organizing the population to fight against what he calls an economic war.
