Venezuela opposition leader calls for massive May Day protest ( BIGGEST EVER IN VENEZUELA )

Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido called for a massive May Day protest to increase the pressure on President Nicolas Maduro after a day of violent clashes on the streets of the capital.

Guaido said Wednesday's rally would be "the biggest in the history of Venezuela" as he presses his attempt to unseat the president.

Guaido’s appearance early Tuesday with national guard members outside a Caracas air force base triggered violent protests that resulted in more than 100 injured in clashes with authorities. The White House tweeted a video showing Venezuelan police or military vehicles appearing to hit protestors with the caption "This is the corrupt, illegitimate Maduro Regime."

Guaido's call for a massive march apparently prompted Maduro to call on his own "millions-strong march of the working class.”
