But real ciggies don't require electricity...only a flame :)

Actually the problem with quitting is mental.

You feel the physical withdrawal symptoms and your mind keeps telling you...STOP, GRAB A CIGGIE...it is so powerfull it becomes debilitating.

It is as powerfull as leaving the house & your brain tells you...STOP, YOU LEFT THE STOVE ON...or STOP YOU LEFT THE IRON PLUGGED IN.

You just freeze in your tracks.

Well, I found that an E-cig stops that for some odd reason.

You still have the physical withdrawal symptoms...but not the constant "STOP" driving you insane.

I'm gonna try to quit again here soon & I have my E-cig all ready to try again.
 Quoting: Mental Case

Depending on the amount of nicotine in your liquid, the fact that it stops the craving and the mental alarm is not the least bit surprising. It provides everything you are missing, all the nicotine, minus all the additives in cigarets. I have no plans to stop using mine - no reason, and the nicotine is very relaxing and helpful. I would like to stop the cigarets, but not the vaping.

What was your point about electric vs. physical flame?

Recharging the vaper via your cell-phone charging apparatus is so fast and simple - crank your radio to listen to weather or whatever news you can find, and quickly charge the vaper again. Don't even need to worry about matches or lighters! Save those for your fires!

That would have many advantages, especially for me being a woman alone, despite I have so much knowledge to contribute for others able to do the physical work.

How do you suggest we do this?

There might be a way to seperate the oil & water (venezuella)...

It would be a mixture of water & oil (raw petroleum)...oil floats on the top of water.

So pour it into a container...let it settle for 15 minutes...siphon from the bottom.

Then filter & boil.

*** I've never tried this...it's only an idea (theory).

That's not what I mean.

I worked my way down to 3 ciggies and about 20 puffs off an E-cig per day.

Then I stopped both...no ciggies or E-cig.

While the withdrawal symptoms were there...the mental alarm was not.

Aww c'mon - don't you think it really was a great idea on your part? I did, though I don't see how to make it work logistically.

I would appreciate having male preppers around, as I am only me, and can't very well guard a front door, a sliding glass door, a large front window, and a very light garage door which connects to the house. Sound like fun?

When the system breaks down. Be aware of tactics that can be used against you or your group. Know what the enemy is capable of doing. Avoid traps and ambushes.

Most maybe in defensive positions, but one needs also to be mindful of offenses that can be used against someone.

Lots of info and videos out there to research.

A couple videos is just an introduction. Although these videos may seem extreme, tactics are tactics.

Pooka, it sounds like you need a "fall back position".

A hallway is usually a good idea. Where only 1 or 2 could fit side by side...as you shot them, others would have to stumble over them to get at you...shoot them too!

By the time you have 6 or 7 bodies laying there, others can't get past the wall of bodies to get at you. Giving you time to reload.

Think the battle of Thermopylae.

You want to create a "bottleneck" for people to have to pass thru.

Maybe a doorway would create that bottleneck.

My fall back position is at the bottom of my stairs.

Solar would also get fried in an EMP or carrington event...so would a generator.

You need a different one - with a better filter and probably lower nicotine liquid. Try one like I have.

There are crank flashlights on Amazon that have the plug-in to charge things, also. And an adaptor for your cigaret lighter in the vehicle. Lots of means. You can even get just a solar panel that has the plug-in, a little solar panel. Lots of ways.
