No, far as I know it's simply a small glitch in the system. No biggie and soon fixed.

Ok. Always concerned about what underhandedness might be going on.
 Quoting: LookingInward

Not much underhanded business here would slip past the watchers. Not to worry until and less we are told there is something to worry about. At the moment, there is not. Please relax and enjoy.

Crunch, did you get the fuel for your generator today?

How are the fields doing? All the fencing done? You haven't mentioned the outside work recently, other than the dratted neighbors!

They rented but I liked the family, quiet and polite. I don't think that they set the fire. It is very suspicious though. I should plan on being awake around 4:00 in case there's a firebug in the area.

So how are things now? Are you up and watching out to see if an arsonist creeps about?

Do you feel worried? Or do you think this was accidental? You've been quiet today and I'm a little concerned - please check in as soon as you can and let us know what's happening.

Just got back from a 4:00 sweep around the house and into the woods. It's likely what happened was purely accidental but I just can't shake that feeling. Both fires happened almost 24 hours apart around 4-4:30, I'm pretty sure that accidents don't have a schedule.

I'm okay, just a little rattled and maybe paranoid. The woods were nice, lots of little flecks of foxfire. It really is a different world in the dark.

Happy you had the time to enjoy the woods at least a little - calming to your spirit.

I'm sorry you are rattled, but with both occurring at the same time, this really is troubling.

Are you heading for bed now, or going to keep watch a while?

I'm awake now, just came back in because a car pulled off to the side of the road in front of my house and seemed to be looking at the ruins. It's pitch dark now, the moon has set, you would think tourists would wait until daybreak. I went to see what was going on and noticed their license plate wasn't illuminated. They took off pretty quick when another car passed by and lit me up. Not helping the paranoia... at. all. About 24 hours again.

I am joining this thread at Pooka's invitation. I have 31 years of experience in preparedness and response, having worked previously as a firefighter/paramedic in multiple jurisdictions around north Georgia. I also hold a master's degree in Emergency Management. I currently still work in a semi-preparedness capacity but in a much more behind the scenes way. I left field response at the end of 2002. All this being said, I make no claims of being anything approaching an "expert". There is always tons to learn in this field. I hope to review this thread soon and contribute where I can. Thanks, Pooka.

Thanks. I hope to become more active in this thread after this Friday. I have an absolute "perfect storm" of stuff going on right now both at work and personally. This week, I am limited as to how much time I can devote to GLP and, due to present geopolitical circumstances, I am focusing on the thread(s) related to the Iran situation. I will be around, though.

Hey Pooka, more FREE goats and pigs in the Houston area:

[link to houston.craigslist.org (secure)]

How does anyone go hungry with such deals available? That is enough meat to fill a deep freeze.

Anyone with a little land can set up a biz just picking up free goats and selling them at the Flea Market.

The last time I went to the Flea Market, I took a cabrito (young male goat) in a cage. Sold him in 10 minutes and never left the parking lot.

Darth, that's amazing! I cannot believe all the free livestock there! Here people on CL advertise asking for free livestock! Not common at all here. A person could fully outfit a farm! Wonder why pigs are being given away, unless they are those pot-bellied pet pigs.

A couple times, at least, on Janey's thread about the impending war people have recommended that folks go out and get their preps quickly, since MSM has caught on to the story finally so people in general will now know what may be coming very soon.

I hope everyone here already has theirs and can stay home and wait for further developments.

Only one I hope has gone out is Crunch for his generator fuel.

Everyone seems pretty much away recently - anybody think we should green pin? Or shall we wait until war appears closer? Right now there's no definite word, but some think war this weekend and others think no war.

What do you all think, about both questions?

It's better to be safe than sorry and prepare for the worst , hope for the best.

My opinion on this beating of war drums comes up flat. However, that is due to so much sensationalizing of ANY news that comes out , whether it be good or bad.

The peeps that are rooting for something to go south really don't know what they are asking for.
Be careful what thou wish for cause ya just might get it.

I can only pray that all will work itself out in the end and that If I must stand I will be prepared to do so on all fronts.

If we do not go to war, and I despise war - many posts on GLP by me about believing only the politicians should do the actual fighting - if we don't go to war, the moslems will be that much closer to taking over our country and the world in their mandate to caliphate. If we cut off the head of the snake, the imams will have no further orders to give to the mosques which store the weapons, train the jihadis, and arrange the warfare right here at home. Sleeper cells might not receive their trigger orders if the head is off the snake.

Can't say I predict it - just don't know. Preps in hand, plenty of water, stay close to home tomorrow and this weekend, and we will see.

As I read your post a dark thought passed thru my brain. What if cutting off the head of that snake "IS" the trigger for their sleeper cells? I believe they already know what their orders are.

Another thought was that the all powerful people are playing a real time game of Risk (the board game)with the world's lives. Sick way for them to have fun I guess.Just what it comes across as.

It's possible that is one of the triggers, but that would not be the only one. We have to get rid of them whether we have to find them by their actions, or another way. We cannot live forever under this threat.

I doubt if TPTB are having a good time with this mess - at least not Trump and his people. I think he gets bad advice as a result of appointing bad people, which is his choosing. Some now are saying he has always been democrat, that he did not change when he said he did.

I try not to do politics at any time I can avoid same. I prefer facts, and the fact is, we are in a mess.

Like a dead man's switch. It has to be a scenario that our opposition has prepared for. I won't give details but I've mapped out maybe 9 points that would greatly impact life in the US. Given the proper combination of timing and supply chain we don't need an EMP to make the majority of Americans feel the effects.

If our opponent is capable, there are a number of other points of vulnerability that would increase the effect.

In all honesty, the US doesn't have a recent history of standing against an enemy that can deny basic supplies (although I wonder if modern Europe is the same). What would happen if we fell under circumstances that excludes produce from Mexico and Canada. Or other places. God forbid that we can't make guacamole.
