I need to update my seeds this year. Seeds only last like five years for most. If you get GMO seeds they will only last a year. I'm growing as we speak so I have more but I like to stock up.

Before I was expecting a grandchild (found out on thanksgiving) i was gonna buy one of the little cub woodstoves and outfit a fan to live in. Now that I'm gonna be a grandma, I figure I have to have a proper home :(, so ixnay on that for now. But a lot of people have them in campers and vans and they absolutely love them. I will have to read about this stove tomorrow as I am not comprehending it tonight...been up about 20 hours or so and need to sleep

It's bigger than you'd think...like a foot & a half wide by 3 feet deep.

But it's steel so it's light and movable...unlike a cast iron stove.

Never used it (yet)...y'r supposed to pur sand in the bottom before use to protect the bottom of the stove.

My idea is kind of a sauna-emergency shelter.

The only thing that's been holding me back is where do I leave it in the back yard?

Gas company in MN was asking people in areas (big lake, princeton and others) to turn their thermostats down to 60.

Now they are saying 55 degrees.

sheeeee-it!

(does not affect my area).

Took the truck for a drive 3 times today...not many on the road.

The US mail was cancled...first time I've ever seen that! Probably a good idea though.

I thank God that where I live the temps will not become anything like that. Worst I've seen here is around zero or slightly under, and that very rarely happens. The last was easily ten years ago. It won't be pleasant without heat in winter, at 45 degrees and below freezing at night, but nothing like you have. We can climb in bed and stay there. I'll have sweats on, tops and bottoms, in bed, and we will manage. I have several warm coats, include a huge leather parka that also has an insert - made for your weather, not mine! LOL

I wasn't the ONLY one onthe road...stores were open...and I wanted to make sure my truck would start in the middle of the night if needed, so I thought I'd give it a little workout today.

I saw many cars in driveways with the hoods up...I'm sure they were trying to charge the battery.

Today we had a high of 17 below zero.

Cold again tonight but then the warm up begins tomorrow afternoon...I think we're supposed to have a high of 15 tomorrow.

Snow on the ground is minimal...maybe 3 inches & it's powder.

Just 2 weeks ago it was bare lawn.

Wife's cousin lived in Montana. Told me about shopping mall parking lots with outlets for block heaters.

Told me about leaving their cars running all winter so they wouldn't freeze.

It gets cold here in Nor Cal, but not that cold. Knock wood.
