Whispering Leaves, wherever you are - adjunct to our earlier conversation, I am reading about a man's survival experiences and plans in Arizona, and happened onto this paragraph:

Merino wool Underwear, kept in a small dry bag fits at the bottom of your bag in cooler temps, and is a life saver when you need it. It insulates when wet, doesn’t itch and is one piece of gear you cannot afford to be without. Poly pro is an acceptable substitute but I know wool is a better bet for my own life.

I just read about BULLFROG high number sunscreen which is also a bug repellant. Seems to have been the most popular ever, but is no longer produced, for some reason. If you happen onto a supply and the "best by" date isn't outrageously passed - grab it! Seems like an excellent thing to have.

Sunscreen is a wise idea in the bag you plan to carry into the wild blue or red or black yonder. Sunburn can be life-threatening - did you know that? So can skin cancer.

I use a Neutrogena product that is very high in the numbers, and I use it any time I'm in the sun. Couldn't survive without it, considering sun is poison in lupus, but we all have good reason to use sunscreen and I strongly recommend you have and use it.

It is an open secret inside the ham radio community the VOICE communications used by ARES/RACES will be disinformation, while the information sent out over digital will be truthful.

Read that as anything you scan ( in time of emergency ) from your County/State Emergency Services will be false.

If You want to know what is really happening around you, YOU need digital capabilities in both your VHF and HF radio setups.

ATTENTION:

AG bill barr is having a press conference at 9:30 eastern tomorrow morning.

It hold the POTENTIAL of being a SHTF event. I'm not saying it will be...but it might be.

It depends on what is in the Mueller report. Many people expect many different things and, maybe if certain factions don't hear what they want then they will act in a manner that changes how you and I are affected at the checkout.

Already we see higher gas prices, certain higher food prices. What could we expect? Gas prices? Yeah, I feel your pain.

It all depends on what bill barr has to say.

The democrats are already in freak out mode...screaming on CNN and calling emergency press briefings.

If barr announces it's DECLASS and they are releasing the FISA documents...HOLY CRAP!

If he announces they have already taken obama into custody...it's too late to go to the grocery store. There would be riots everywhere.

If barr announces an investigation into the russian collusian hoax, then I would say we still might have a month or 2 before things get ugly.

Thank you for your view. Surely would hate to be done shopping today. However, we are not guaranteed another day, not for life, and not for preparing, so if what we have is what we have - God can multiply just as He did fishes and loaves.

We have higher gas prices because summer approaches, and because there is far less ethanol to be made due to weather in Nebraska and midwest corn-growing fields.

If there is one more reason to raise gas prices, some of us are going to be garage-saling for bicycles or auction-saling for donkeys!

I intend to be up & showered & ready to make a grocery run before barr starts talking tomorrow morning...and I did my shopping today (even picked up a $30 leg of lamb I didn't need...and a huge chocolate bunny).

ok I want your opinions, I am cleaning the garage and I also recently did pick up a used futon from a nice house in a nice area.

On the futon mattress first, what is the best way to check for bugs of any sort?

Also when in the garage, how can I identify any small debris I may find and what caused it?

Possible culprits right now I would be looking for is say bed bugs (which I honestly do think it has) and I think I have field mice, which is normal around here, had them before.

The futon came from a person like me and in the same area, I can almost guarantee these people are clean, the woman is a 20 year teacher.
