Practical Prepping Protocol even if Poor

I figured the first time I fill one will probably be a false alarm...so I got 3 just in case.

A whole bath tub full of DRINKABLE water is a darn good thing!

So, those of us with wells, what's your plan to get water out if you are without electricity for, well, ever?

So far I stuffed my face...and I put away 10 roast & mushroom meals in the freezer, and I still have a butt-load in the tray in the fridge.

I don't think I'm thru half of it yet.

I even put the beef fat/drippings in ziplock bags (in freezer) for beef-noodle soup at some later date. Or I could make gravy out of it.

You could heat a couple buckets of water, pour one over you, shampoo and wash yourself all over, then pour the other bucket for rinse, and done, and CLEAN!!! Not as easy to do on the kitchen floor and outside you could have an audience! Ew

There won't be a circumstance in my life in which I choose not to bathe, one way or another. Everything in the world would be worse if I had to deal with it dirty. Just not happening.

I think we will have to toss him into the swamp and roll him over a few times in there.

I still have a small scar on my left elbow from where I, as a child, would bathe in a pan behind the wood cook stove. I had lathered up, swung around to find my wash cloth and hooked the stove pipe with my elbow. But the lesson is, bathe in a pan if you have to. In a warm place. And don't hug any stove pipes if you can help it. But you can still have a full and productive life if you screw this up!

That would be a fun exercise just to see what inventive way what Mental Case would find out of it. This should be a weekly exercise, what would MC do?

If I have the water, I can do it outside (back yard).

I'll just need to grab a floor mat from my truck so I'm not standing in mud. But I can set up a shower curtain out there.

Plus, I would still have an extra 80-100 gallons of drinkable water.

The water-BOB holds 100 gallons but I doubt my tub would.

Just so you know, we had a spring uphill. My dad ran a pipe from the spring to just outside our door where it filled a five gallon bucket. We had one bucket inside to drink from and another outside to fill, exchanging one for the other as we saw fit. So at most I had 2 1/2 gallons to bathe in... such luxury! Tin basins on a woodstove heated the water that I used.

For drinking, we had a bucket inside the door with a ladle. I would ladle some water into a cup and call it good..

Yeah, but I think I over-did it.

I just hope the meat doesn't sit until it's freezer burned. There's alot & it's gonna take me a long time to get thru it all.

Also, an appropiate sized ram pump if you have a creek nearby.

I was gonna have a large container to have a decent water pressure gravity fed inside.

If your well is less than about 75 feet there are the old style handpumps. Some of the new ones are functional.

Anyone figured out how to rig up a windmill to fill the large container? I have put a lot of thought into my fluid requirements. It would be wise to learn many ways to have drinkable water.

Make the buckets on the water-wheel tip & empty out into a container/trough.
