I am joining this thread at Pooka's invitation. I have 31 years of experience in preparedness and response, having worked previously as a firefighter/paramedic in multiple jurisdictions around north Georgia. I also hold a master's degree in Emergency Management. I currently still work in a semi-preparedness capacity but in a much more behind the scenes way. I left field response at the end of 2002. All this being said, I make no claims of being anything approaching an "expert". There is always tons to learn in this field. I hope to review this thread soon and contribute where I can.
