When camping, on a homestead, in youth ministry, then community members learn the art of storytelling. It's dramatic interpretation to convey meaning and inspire courage and to belly laugh and to share sorrow. If you want your children and teens to be well spoken then facilitate the old ancestral skill. They will need it to be leaders and artisans and pastors and just be good parents and spouses.
Being taciturn on a healthy homestead is not normal.
