I went off to an off grid cabin across from these rapids... [link to sunshinecoastcanada.com (secure)] The woman (one of 2 who got away) decided it was a perfect time to take me and my friend home. The wall of water from the hightide coming at us was about 7-8' but it its a good boat. We caught full on air...scary as all get go and kind of dumb. But we made it...so I met all the neighbours and stuff and it was a delight. They all get their water (via pipes) from a spring up mountain, they all have solar systems and back up gennies, and they all use propane appliances.

We designed a greenhouse for her SW facing deck and am going back to build it. She didn't know that hot peppers are perennials (7-8 years some of them) nor that vining tomatoes were. She is going to have a rather neat greenhouse when I'm done with it. I'm going to stay there for a bit I think this winter (2-3 weeks) because we are old friends who can be near each other without having to talk.

So I'm going to go around to all of her neighbours and look at what they have set up and I'll keep ya'll posted when I do. I was quite impressed...everywhere I looked I saw food. Swimming food, stuck on a rock by the shore food, buried in sand food, flying food and deer a plenty. Neat spot.
