I think it was Lawrence of Arabia with Peter O'Toole. Didn't really understand the plot but was blown away by the cinematography. Made me appreciate film as an art form.

I can't remember. Mom and dad were dragging me to the drive-in since before I can remember. I was usually sacked out in the back seat by the 2nd feature.

Battle of Britain (1969) is as far back as I can remember .... very young....remember being absolutley terrorfied during the scene when an aircrewman gets hit and his goggles filled up with blood..... I think I was four or five then..... got to love growing up then.... no stupid socialistic rules on how you should be raised... and you learned quickly what can hurt you and what doesn’t ....

Star Wars was my first theater film but we had seen many movies at the drive-in prior to that.
 Quoting: TheGasMan II

Haha me too. I recall a lot of drive in movies but dont recall what the movies were, every time we went us kids would be running around between cars playing with zip guns as there was always ample ammo around (pop can tops),. My first in theater movies i remember were cheech and chong up in smoke and the ist starwars movie, & the wiz .

There was a time before age-dependent ratings. Mom took us kids to see "Psycho" and none of us would sleep without a light on, or take a shower behind a curtain for many years.

Wow, synchronicity. I read your post and at the same time the Ford Commercial using East Bound and Down came on TV.

My 1st drive in was also Smokey and the Bandit.

I don't remember what we went to see at the drive in but I do remember falling asleep and waking up to Debbie does Dallas. lmao

Where I grew up in Philly, just a short hike north on Roosevelt BLVD took you towards Bensalem, PA.

Just before you got to Bensalem was a drive in theater that could be viewed from the street playing hardcore porn every night after dark.

The drive in was called the Lincoln...

CRAZY thinking about how it was CLEARLY visible from the road you were driving. But hey? Welcome to Philadelphia! Or Bensalem depending on which direction you were traveling.
