There was a time before age-dependent ratings. Mom took us kids to see "Psycho" and none of us would sleep without a light on, or take a shower behind a curtain for many years.

This is actually the first movie that I ever remember seeing. It was playing at my parents friends house while we were visiting. I was 3. It ruined my life!

Bambi. I was around two. I don't remember it...but my parents told me I began crying so loudly when Bambi's mother was killed that they had to take me out of the theater. I was evidently inconsolable.

Magnificent 7, (1960) with Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach, James Coburn.

A time when men still acted like men.

My parents took me to William Castle's 13 Ghosts(1960), with the red and blue Illusion-O Ghost Viewer. Vivid memories for a 5 year old-have been hooked on horror ever since!

Quoting: Wyoming Doom with a View

That was a scary movie--many people had to take off their "ghost viewing glasses" whenever the ghosts just got too scary.

I don't remember what we went to see at the drive in but I do remember falling asleep and waking up to Debbie does Dallas. lmao
 Quoting: Jwnlwplus4

Where I grew up in Philly, just a short hike north on Roosevelt BLVD took you towards Bensalem, PA.

Just before you got to Bensalem was a drive in theater that could be viewed from the street playing hardcore porn every night after dark.

The drive in was called the Lincoln...

CRAZY thinking about how it was CLEARLY visible from the road you were driving. But hey? Welcome to Philadelphia! Or Bensalem depending on which direction you were traveling.
 Quoting: 196

LOL! We had one of those too. Had to go down a side street and park at just the right spot, but for teenagers.............uh, we learned a lot!banana2

It was probably a Disney movie but the one I remember was Star Wars, 1978? I remember my dad's face, like he just watched a UFO landing. He was mesmerized.

Re: Your first movie theater film?
looottttsss of stuff online lately thats trying to get peoples ages. its very strange, I have never seen such a coordinated effort to gauge the ages of the people frequently online... very concerning... theyre doing various things like 10 year challenge, comments from shills that try to get age info from you, I even have shills messaging me straight up asking me how old I am, and using reverse psychology to try and fish it out of me... its very strange... just thought I would share that with the few critical thinkers on here...hf
