Hey O'sCookie, this site has a lot of good geological maps of Montana, you should be able to find out what kind of ground your on. [ link to www.mbmg.mtech.edu] And also remember about this map from G.M.S.  Thanks! I think I need to go further north...The EDGE of the water in that Navy Map is approx. where we are in Montana right now. Geeze...Thought this was a good place...dang.

....and this still isn't Montana's safe place?"I wouldn't go further North, remember we are entering a grand solar minimum, this will lead to a 400 year mini iceage. True...But if there is a pole shift, won't we end up at the Equator? I was counting on that!  O'sCookie with how fast the magnetic north pole is moving towards Siberia it might not have to shift, If the ice follows that is.
