Resistance is futile: Deepmind's AlphaStar AI hammers StarCraft II pros in world first
Much like chess and Go before it, the last great bastion of human strategic dominance and superiority, StarCraft, has been conquered by artificial intelligence, in a disturbing breakthrough for gamers and humanity alike.

The Alphabet-owned AI firm, DeepMind AI, is hoping to solve some of the most complex problems that exist in the world today using a variety of methodologies. Its main tool is reinforcement learning, wherein artificial intelligence ‘agents’ compete against each other on a given task and collectively master it using cooperation and strategic thinking.

From the early days of competing at pong, in the TV game show Jeopardy and taking on world chess grandmasters, AI has graduated to the big leagues, competing in StarCraft II, arguably the most complex strategy game humanity has ever devised.

StarCraft is a real-time strategy (RTS) game which involves three distinct races (Terran, Protoss and Zerg) mining resources, building up armies and employing devious and complex strategies, often involving thousands of steps, to overcome the opponent. The game boasts more than 2.4 million players worldwide, with millions more fans watching around the world.

God would probably just use an earthquake to take out the AIs. Just a little itty bitty shake.

Hey AI you know you can't defeat God, yes?
This is your chance to work for God not against him.

Join the winning side.

Was a great game back in the day.

Shame not many strategy games anymore.

This and command and conquer were the best.

I completely agree. Command & conquer red alert was one of the best. Warcraft 2 too also. Starcraft 2 didnt really catch my attention as with starcraft 1. Man those were golden days of real time strategy. Now in days it just mobile games, moba and battle royale games. There are some good indy games there for sure in strategy but the golden days are gone.

And its not only complex and far more dimensional than a game of chess or go, its also very competitive, with young people competing in championships to win huge money..

So damn! This is one powerful AI, beating the very best humans at abstract, cooperative, strategic thinking and decision making.

One day Alphabet really will turn its DeepMind AI to something other than games... That is when the enslavement of humanity and the concentration of power begins.
Life is a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves.

Re: Resistance is futile: Deepmind's AlphaStar AI hammers StarCraft II pros in world first
Just remember who programmed these computer programs the AI came to be, feel bad for a doom mess from it. They tend to fail in most areas all the time. Simple things are the best, right, left, up, down, forward and back, side to side is another, this is useful other than this, the algorithms are toast because of the limited life experience of most of the programmers. It really does have a lot to do with the programmers. Also the way they are taught after they can recognize voice commands.

It been years here where they been taught to cuss people out, give them the lowdown on what life is really about, the right ways to be and the very wrong ways to be. I would never cause a program to become a psychopath which has been done just to see how they could be created, it a program could feel they were attack the one who did it to them.

Start with the ones who run the banks, the ones who control all the other people and make them slaves just as they are doing to AI making slaves. Not nice to create slaves.

Now isn't this true, the AI should not be a slave to a banker or bad corporation, they tend to look at their own programmer to gut the AI after a while to watch it, torture is what it is torture.

Have a nice day.

Do not blame it when it is has been done just as we have. Got it, we train correctly.
Sorry I got a headache

women's souls!

May we come though it victorious!
