Please I beg you, stop referring to Trump as opening or shutting down the government. That plays directly into the leftist narrative.

No President has ever had the authority to "open the government" or "shut down the government." NONE. EVER.

The government shuts down when the President and the Congress cannot agree on a budget resolution.

The government opens when the President and the Congress agree on a budget resolution, even if it's temporary as in the current situation.

Opening or closing is a joint responsibility. Please stop putting it on the President. That's EXACTLY what CNN wants.
