In very simple terms, it is the two sides of the human experience within the universe, the Darkness and the Light. You cannot truly live in light without first experiencing and accepting that you are also darkness. The two cannot exist separately, therefore neither can our soul.

You've met those that ARE indeed soulless, they live not within darkness, but outside both in a realm none of us with a soul can comprehend.

I agree with the first part but not the second. I think people have souls that are trapped. At a certain point, the worst of the worst, the darkest deeds imaginable, there really is no hope in untrapping them.

Yingyang represent the 2 extremes that permeates in universe in the grand scale (matter ,antimatter) and in the subatomic scale of reality ( +,-) even in conscious awareness (good , bad)

One cannot exist without another, both have it's place in the universe. So don't be too prejudiced against one or another .

In ancient Asian philosophy, its inner meaning is translated to english as
