Flying Elvii User ID: 68199120 United States 01/27/2019 12:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Happened January 22. Video showed up this weekend. Quoting: Draugen Three crew members died and a fourth was hospitalized with serious injuries. [link to youtu.be (secure)] Snow, near zero visibility, too fast, probably never saw the ground until it was too late. Really slammed it down. As my instructor always said, you can always go around. |

Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. “They’ve got us surrounded again, the poor bastards.” - U.S. Army Paratrooper at Bastogne |

Sometimes looks can be deceiving when dealing with high speeds from a distance and large objects... but is it safe to say that most aircraft would not have broken in half on a landing like that? You would think that the weak point would be the landing gear... hard to imagine that the "fuse" in the aircraft that lets go first was the fuselage. |

Was the pilot flying VFR, when he shoulda been flying IFR? What ever it was, it showed a major structural design defisincy. Severe turbulance during flight could cause that same failure.
