I get ya, just making a poor joke. But I did lookup and mild steel, which is what it looks like they are using is stronger than stainless steel. not that it really matters I would think, you would not be able to get thru either one very easily, which is the point.

How is mild Steel stronger than Stainless? IMO mild Steel is fine, but how is mild stronger than Stainless? I'm a stress engineer and I can't think of any way mild Steel would be considered stronger than Stainless. That being said, mild Steel is fine for the wall.

According to what I read, its the carbon in mild steel that makes it stronger, stainless does not have very much carbon and it has other metals that do not add to strength.

So how about this:

Well 'mild' Steel gets its name because of the lower end of the carbon it contains. Yes it has Carbon, but it's low Carbon Steel. This makes it more ductile, less prone to fracture when it's hit. By the way the more Carbon you add the more brittle it becomes (or I should say less ductile it becomes). Both of these Steel's stiffnesses, or structural rigidity, is essentially the same (Young's modulus which is around 30KSI). So as far as rigidity, they're basically the same. Again the only difference would be in how they responded to impact, the mild Steel would be more prone to bending before breaking. But no honestly you can't say that mild Steel is stronger, in any way except ductility.

That is not really a wall, but it will help free up resources to get drones WITH ground penetrating radar that can just fly along the fence looking for tunnels and ladders. It also free up resources to watch the entry ways closer. Imagine only needed a forth of the resources to guard the fenced areas that will free up so many for other areas that need addressed. Not only that but the drones can watch for foreign armies and the wall can possibly slow down armies just a bit. Every second counts. Hopefully along higher accessed points they have a much larger wall with high tech sensors. I think the next step after the wall is tech like drones and sensors that will make the guards job so much easier.

Powder coat it with nails, broken glass and used razor blades.

That should help preserve it longer and keep people off of it.

Stainless would cost a lot more that other types of Steel.

And would take longer to produce.

All I would add is close IRS loopholes that give illegals child tax credits, give employers of them actual prison time in addition to fines, stop most legal immigration, make it a felony with prison time for illegals or visa overstays of over 6 months, e-verify wouldn't hurt either.

There are numerous videos dating back to the beginning of 2018 showing bollard style fencing being installed as upgrades to existing border fence. This has been appropriated under the current DHS budget-- less than 100 miles over 2 years is the last I checked.

It's critical either a Congressional Bill or National Emergency is declared or there will be very little fence that can be built moving forward.

The rust actually protects the steel plus it is cheaper to construct and replace. I think the inside of the slats are filled with the as well concrete. From that first video it looks like it goes about 5 feet into the ground with rebar to prevent tunneling. Any attempted tunneling will be detected with ground sensors - also requested in the budget.

This technology is used all over the world.
